Sameer thought they would show slight regret about what they did but they didn't, especially Aama. He was looking right at her thinking that she'll beg for forgiveness but she didn't even dodge, like she did an awarding act.
Given what she had done in her life, he thought he wouldn't care if she was behind bars but he was wrong. It hurt like a bitch, karma per say.
"Are you sure you don't have anything to say to me Aama?" Sameer asked again. He was the only one doing the talking and she wouldn't say a word. It was like she got paid to stay mute.
"We'll meet in court then" Sameer finally said and stood up from where he was sitting. He was about to exit the room when he heard her voice echo in the large room.
"Even if I die, I believe I lived the life I wanted for myself. Do your worst" Aama said and hissed. That, was exactly what made Sameer sure that no matter what the woman gets as a punishment, it would not make her repent before her end.
That being assured, Sameer walked out with a heavy heart preparing it for what he'll have to face later that day. It was the same day they'll hear the court's final judgement.
Adjusting the white babban riga that was on his body, he looked over to his wrist watch to see the time and gladly, he would be able to reach the mosque before scheduled time.
Before you ask, no, he is not getting married but Badia is. Save the surprise for later.
Finally settling inside his car, he drove it out of the station premises to BubaYaro Central Mosque.
Sighing again for the umpteenth time that day, Sameer picked up his phone and dialled Naeem's number.
"Great you called! I just got a call from my agent and we've got him!" Naeem said immediately he picked the call. "Him who?" Sameer asked a bit confused. "The air ambulance pilot. His name is Tristan, turns out he lives here in Gombe with his family" Naeem replied.
"Alhamdulillah! This day is just getting better" Sameer exclaimed. "I know right. I set up a meeting with him, we'll go immediately after the court hearing" Naeem remarked. "Okay sure" Sameer agreed.
"What made you call anyways?" Naeem asked. "Oh yeah about that, have you been able to handle the lawyer thing?" Sameer asked back what he initially called to confirm.
"Yes I did, no one should be willing to take up their case" Naeem replied and Sameer sighed.
Ever since Aama and Ibrahim got arrested, he had been looking for ways to deny them any lawyer. Naeem helped him with it because he knew why Sameer didn't want to drag the hearing on for long. It wasn't a nice thing to watch your mother get questioned and even if Sameer could handle it, he knew Hasna could not. Hence, they made sure there was no opponent lawyer that would take Aama's case so the court would pass an early judgement.
"I don't really know how thankful I should be to you" Sameer said. "Well you shouldn't cause you should know by now that I am not just a friend to you, I am your ever charming and handsome brother" Naeem said with a chuckle.
"Gosh Aeem! I am not your wife, stop being cheesy" Sameer laughed. "See you at court comrade!" Naeem laughed too. "Bye, deliver my regards to Wahida" Sameer said.
