The very next day found Robbie sitting in class, gazing out the window. For some reason his mind had drifted back to the girl with blonde hair that had helped him defeat Gaming Master. She was brave enough to risk it all, just to save him. Robbie smiled. Mr Crick grumbled, looking at Robbie angrily. ROBBERT MALCOM! GET OUUUUUTTT! NOW! Robbie blinked realizing what had happened. "But I didn't do anythin- " "I DON'T CARE! JUST GET OUT NO-" Mr Crick fell on the ground, having spasms. No one moved a muscle. The children looked first at Mr Crick and then at Robbie. Robbie hurried over to the man listening to his heart with his superhearing. It was beating rapidly. He was having a heart attack. Robbie didn't know what to do. "Go call someone!" He shouted. Jasper ran off to their teacher. Robbie knew that they wouldn't get there in time. He had to do something. Then he remembered what the nurse had told his class about heart attacks:
When the heart beats slow, give more for sure
But when the heart beats fast, less is always best.
(I dare you. Say something about my poem. Go ahead. I dare you)
Robbie knew what he needed to do. He had to slow his oxygen, to return his heart back to normal. Kneeling down, he put his hand over Mr Crick's nose, and pretended to be doing CPR and instead started sucking the breath out of his body. As Mr Crick's heartbeat started slowing down, his hands stirred. Robbie helped the teacher to his feet, wiping his mouth with his shirt. Mr Crick looked at him, hugging him tightly. Robbie stiffly returned the gesture. Mr Crick awkwardly cleared his throat and sort of pushed Robbie away, fixing his clothes. Jasper came running in, with a medical team right behind him. The men ran in with a stretcher, looking for the person in need of medical care. "Who fainted?"one of them asked, looking at the students. The other one pointed to Mr Crick, who propped himself up against his desk, regaining his breath. Picking him up, the medical team walked out the door.Robbie sat there waiting for the lunch bell to ring. He was itching for another crime scene, or at least someone to save. Shutting his eyes, he listened out for a crime. Berkley was surprisingly crime free for the day. Listening harder, he heard a news van, police cars, angry yells, and several voices trying to persuade someone to do something. Robbie grabbed his bag hurrying to the bathroom. Changing at superspeed, he jumped out of the bathroom window, immediately sprinting away as he hit the ground. Fortitude jumped through traffic, as if he was on a trampoline. Springing onto a bridge, Fortitude waved to a crying baby in the back of a red van. The baby stopped crying and looked at Fortitude. Fortitude made a silly face, causing the baby to laugh. The father looked around seeing Fortitude giving him a salute, before speeding away.
Finally arriving on the scene, Robbie hundreds of people, including the news team were there looking up at a man in an apartment window who was holding a gun to a teen's head. A whole S.W.A.T team were there, aiming guns at the man. Superion and Starlad were also there, trying to talk the man out of it. This was serious. The time it took for a hero to run up the stairs, or fly into the building could've meant death for the teenager in the angry man's grip. Fortitude tried to think of something. The problem wasnt as simple as fighting the bad guy and saving the day. The man was like a time bomb about to go off. Fortitude walked over to some cops at the car, who were desperately trying to persuade the man to stop. "How's it looking Cheif? " Fortitude asked, his brow creased. The normally jovial man mopped his brow with a kerchief, genuinely worried. "To be honest with you, this is the worse day ever. That boy he has up there isn't just some boy. His parents are Lady Olga and The Gold Mask , Mafia bosses, who were here on business. If we allow him to die, we risk starting a war with their gang, the Legion" "And this man single handedly managed to kidnap the boy?" Fortitude asked. The man nodded. Were there any stated reasons?" Fortitude asked. "Not any we know of." The Chief replied. Fortitude tapped his chin. Something was not quite right. His mind was moving at unnatural speeds trying to work this puzzle out. He walked on the street, into the man's line of vision. Superion glanced at Fortitude out of the corner of his eyes, confused. Starlad wrinkled his nose. The other officers had hopefull eyes, especially the Chief. "Hey! You up there! Shoot him! Go ahead! Everyone looked at Fortitude, shocked. Superion spun around, his eyes bulging. "Fortitude, what are you doing?" Superion flew down to restrain Fortitude, but Fortitude grabbed him and whispered: "Trust me. Let me do my thang." The S.W.A.T team's eyes flitted at Superion uncertainly. Superion was uneasy, but decided to let the young vigilante do his 'tHaNg'. Fortitude walked over to the building, opening the door and sped inside all the way to room 105. Kicking the door in, he saw the broad black man with an two uzzi guns, smirking. "Shoulda thought twice, wonderboy!" Releasing rapid fire, he laughed as the appartment filled with feathers and cloth. Ceasing his fire, he saw that Fortitude was still standing, holding a couple bullets in his hands. The rest were lodged in a wall, or in the nearby bed. The man looked horrified. Walking towards him, the man tried to shoot himself, but the gun was empty. Fortitude plucked the gun out of his hands, twisting them into a kind of handcuffs. The boy was nowhere to be found. Robbie scanned the room, finding no fingerprints. Suddenly he felt a sense of foreboding behind him causing him to spin around face to face with the boy from before, armed with a bow and arrow with a glowing blue tip.
