You Work Here?

Robbie finished his sandwich and washed his plate. He went to the door and slipped on his shoes and grabbed some money out of his savings. Just in case he saw some chenille stems. Robbie grabbed his bag and hurried down the stairs. He didn't have to worry about Meowms since he was inside at this time of the day. On his way down Herbie and Ferbie came up the stairs squabbling, as usual. "Hey Robbie. Which do you think is better: Comics or movies?" they called, pausing upstairs. Robbie thought for a moment. "Cartoons." he said simply continuing down the stairs leaving them to squabble. As he reached the bottom stairs he grabbed his bicycle and started riding towards Berkley Diner where he worked. Then he remembered he had to go somewhere first. Turning his bicycle around, he rode over to elderly Mrs Robinson's store. He walked in gently pushing the door, causing the bell to ring. Robbie went over to Mrs Robinson,(Everyone called her Mrs P) who was smiling from ear to ear. "Robbie! Nice to see you again. I was wondering when I would see you again". "Sorry Mrs P. School and homework is really hectic, so I gotta spend more time doing that. Mrs Robinson beamed and reached under her desk pulling out a fresh batch of cookies. "I had baked this this morning and was about to bring it over for you guys. By the way, how is she doing?" She is doing just fine Mrs P" Robbie replied. "And the boys"? She asked. "They.......are...their usual selves."Robbie answered chuckling. "Like this morning they put some ketchup and spicy pepper in my sandwich." Mrs Robinson laughed. "Those boys never fail to get in trouble." Robbie's watch beeped. He looked down to see the time. It was 3:00, and he was going to be late. "Well it's been nice catching up Mrs P, but I have to go." "OK dear. But be sure to visit soon!" Mrs Robinson called, as he was hurrying away. "I will try Mrs P!" Robbie called back. Robbie hopped on his bicycle and sped down the road to The Diner. As he pushed open the door, he quickly looked around the room looking for Mr Paralès. He saw Jeremy, Mr Paralès's son(he's about 17). His daughter was in college. Every month, when he received a letter from her, he read it so many times that he could practically tell it as a story. Robbie ducked under the counter and slipped into the storage room. If he could just slip past the office then he would make it into the backyard(ik most diners don't have this buuuuuuuuuuuut let's work with it ;>). Robbie started sneaking past the office with maximum stealth. As he was passing the office he looked inside seeing Mr Paralès counting his money. He breathed a silent sigh of relief. As he continued past the office, Mr Paralès called in his thick Mexican accent: "You know I can see you, right?" Robbie stopped. How did he hear him? Robbie walked into the office. "How did you hear me Mr Paralès?" With his head still down, he answered: "I have the eyes of the cat and the ears of a rodent. You can't sneak past me." (Also that and the fact that he raised three children) Robbie laughed. "I guess you caught me then." Mr Paralès laughed and shook his head. Robbie walked out of Mr Paralès's office and headed to the back. He pushed the door and looked outside. He looked around seeing that the other two boys, Jasper and Johnny, weren't here as yet. Robbie went back inside and started to work.
A while later(like, 5,10 minutes later.

As Robbie continued working, Jasper and Johnny came in loudly laughing and talking. He knew that Mr Paralès wouldn't get upset with them. He was one of the nicest persons ever. He and Robbie's dad were friends from high-school straight up until the time his dad died. Mr Paralès had helped out his family tremendously then. As he looked over, he noticed that Jasper and Johnny, who were supposed to be doing delivery, were sitting in a corner intently watching a video on Jasper's phone. "Ey!Robbie exclaimed, causing the boys to jump. "Get to work." The boys got up, getting to work straight away. Jasper wheeled away to the little room beside the kitchen, putting on his skates and then skating throughout the diner, bringing the food to tables. As he brought food to each table, Jasper would say find something charming to say to each customer (those things bumps up the customer service points). It wasn't hard with his natural charisma, as he had been employee of the week for a solid 3 weeks. He currently had 15 points. It was a tradition that Mr Paralès had started when he was 12 (Robbie wasn't working there at that time). Each employee had a chance to be employee of the month, and if they held the title for a month(they have to get more than 20 points) then they were treated to a leave off work early, for a week. Also they would get 50 dollars. However if they all get below 20 points, then they had to give Mr Paralès extra time(depending on how many points they have that determines the minutes. (Example: Johnny has 5 points. Johnny works 15 minutes) according to how many minutes they have. Robbie wasn't the most social, but he wasn't a slouch either. He was at 13 points, and he was determined to make it to 60 points, so that he could have the money so that he could help his mom. The extra hour off sounded good too. He didn't really have any friends close to his age, but some video games would be nice. He had wanted to make a new character in SuperGeneration 1 for a while now.(get the reference? :> Hint, Hint,its a roblox game. Not the same name though.) Robbie watched as Jasper talked to a family, making them smile from ear to ear. Look at him, Robbie thought. How am I ever supposed to get my early hour or my money if he is like this? (;~;) Robbie skated over to an empty table and picked up the dishes. He skated back to the washroom and handed the plate over to Ron,(the person who washes the dishes. He is around 16 btw so he hangs with his friends)and skated back out with the menu. As he skated back to the dining area, he saw Justin and his friends, push the door and walk in. Robbie did a total 180 and was about to go back into the kitchen, when Justin started calling, looking directly at him:"Waiter! Waiter! Over here!" Robbie really did not need Justin and his bad temper to mess his day up. Slowly Robbie skated over to Justin and and gave him the menu. He had to show proper costumer service. But with someone like Justin? Yeah...no. Justin was the jerk who had been picking on him ever since he had changed schools after his incident with Shawn. As Robbie took Justin's order, he realized that they had been at odds since elementary school. He was getting tired of this. He didn't want to go through college with Justin cramping his every movement. He had to end it. Unlike last time with Shawn, this time he had control. Robbie skated away to the kitchen with Justin's order, wondering if it was really necessary to fight Justin. Sure, he was the school's rotten QB, but he never physically bullied Robbie. As Robbie thought about this he bumped into someone causing the person to fall. Looking down, he saw William on the floor rubbing his head. "William? You work here?" Robbie asked, helping him up. "Not really" the boy replied. "Sometimes I just come here to hang out". Robbie nodded. He understood how it felt to not have friends. Other kids at his age had plenty. However, he preferred to be left alone. Robbie rolled over to the front desk still talking to William. As he left the order with the Jeremy at the front desk, (again, I've never done this, so I might be messing up) he skated to another table where a child and a woman was sitting, while Justin and his friends meals prepared. "Good afternoon ma'am". "What would you like to have today?" The woman smiled at Robbie and looked over the menu. "I will be having a burger. Timmy, what would you like?" Timmy sat there. And sat there. And sat there. After what seemed like forever, Timmy shouted: "ChImKeN NuGgIeS"!
