Okay, so yesterday was my solo and ensemble performances. Solo and ensemble is basically where you learn songs, sing/play them for judges, and they rank you from 1-5. (1 being the best score 5 being the worst) This is the first year that I have ever done a solo. I did two ensembles (one in band, one in choir) and a solo in band. (I play trumpet) I went in the room, and the judge was very nice, and I played my scale. (for trumpets its a D scale for everyone else its concert C) I was fine on the way up. I played the right notes. But on the way down I played a B flat instead of a B natural, and an F natural instead of an F sharp. But I fixed my mistakes, which he praised me on. I played through my song okay, and Olyvia and I went to the cafeteria to get lunch. I was stalking the guy who put ratings up while eating. Olyvia saw who go to room 313 and start writing, and she got up and looked at the scores. She looked over and said, "You got a one" I almost screamed! I leapt up from my seat and ran over to see it. I had gotten a one, ON MY SOLO! I also got a one on my band ensemble and a 2 on my choir one. It was so much fun!
