So here's another chapter about band. Sorry.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So marching band ended a week ago. (wait holy crap a week ago i was still preparing for marching on Saturday, but we lost the second game in the championship.) Anyways, I auditioned for concert band on Wednesday last week. I played well, and messed up one rhythm at the end. I did well though. We got the results back yesterday to see what band we were in.
I should probably tell you what I'm talking about. After marching band, we have too many members too make one band on the stage, so Mr. T (the band director) splits us up into 2 separate bands. Top band, and bottom band.  Each instrument group has an audition day, and each individual person plays in front of 1 of 3 people who decide where we will be. The band you are put in and what chair depends on how good you are. For instance, top band first chair means you're really good, most likely the best, and top band last chair means you're good, but you could be better. Bottom band top chair means you're good, but not quite ready for top band for one reason or another. Bottom band last chair means you need a lot of work.
So I auditioned. Like I said, I thought I did pretty well. Two of my friends and I were so excited, because we wanted top band so badly. So the day comes around where we find out. We're searching on the top band page for trumpets. I wasn't on it. But one of my friends got sixth chair top band and the other got second to last chair top band. I was upset that I wasn't in top band, and they were, but on the bright side I was first chair in bottom band as a freshman. That's pretty good. My sister (she's a senior) got second chair bottom band right behind me, so I'm still with her. The bad part of first chair is I get all of the solos, and no questions asked. I have to do them. Yay.
