I Don't Understand

You know something I don't understand? How people could say they're joking when they say something really hurtful.

You know something I don't understand? How every time I do something, someone always does it better.

You know something I don't understand? How your best friend can become a stranger in a matter of days.

You know something I don't understand? How people can say they're your friend, then go off and act like they hardly know you every day.

You know something I don't understand? How someone can be so mean to you, and they get mad at you for being mad at them.

You know something I don't understand? How someone who is supposed to be your best friend can keep a secret from you, but tell everyone else.

You know something I don't understand? How someone can be so cruel as to leave you alone when you're already in the dark.

I don't understand a lot apparently, because according to most people I'm an idiot. They constantly look at me, and say, "You wouldn't understand."

I wouldn't understand? I understand a lot more than what you think I understand. I understand that you think that just because I don't understand things like sarcasm, or songs about sex, I don't understand anything.

"You're as dumb as an ape!" Oh you were just joking? Well it seems you've been 'just joking' a lot lately. 

So help me understand! Help me understand how you could have said all of those things, done all of the things you've done, ignored me countless times, and still expect me to be there for you when you need it. Even when I help you say I make it worse, and go to someone else. Fine, but next time you need help go straight to someone else, and stop bothering me just to tell me I'm making it worse. Or I'm making your life harder.

I wish you could still be my best friend, but you were the one who walked out on me...
