"Good evening, Philadelphia! This is a special show for me, not only is Philadelphia a very special place to me, but in the crowd tonight I have three very special guests, one of whom is my little sister, Charlotte," Jo smiled after the first song, waiting for the volume to die down before she continued, "Charlie and I... growing up, we didn't get along very much. But she's here tonight, way out there, I can see her covering her face, I hope I embarrassed her. Anyways, I'm pretty excited about that and I hope you are too. Thanks for being here, I know you have busy lives and I'm just a small, teeny tiny part of it, but I'm extremely grateful to get to see each and every one of you tonight. Thank you."
Jo laughed as the music started again, blowing a kiss to Charlie who proceeded to flip her off. There were about fifteen thousand people in the audience, a decent amount to impress with her mischief.
The show once again went off without a hitch, the break she took between this one and her last in Nashville had really helped. She might have been a bit too burnt out, but having her sister with her really helped.
Jo's Uncle Frankie and his wife, Corrine, also came out for the show but didn't stick around until the very end, trying to beat the traffic.
Charlie got her assignments from her teachers and permission from their father, knowing Jo would keep her safe. She got to spend the next two weeks on the road, going city to city with the singer and the crew.
"That was sick!" Charlie said as she arrived at Jo's dressing room after the show, "It was even better than when I saw it in Nevada! I loved the glitter."
"Thank you," the older brunette blushed, not used to compliments from that specific human, "I need to grab a shower, you can hang out here until I'm out, okay? Maybe have a snack before we leave."
"Okay," Charlie nodded, walking over to the mini fridge and grabbing something out. She sat on the couch until Jo's phone rang on the table, seeing it was Taylor.
Charlie answered it, she was comfortable enough with the blonde now that they even texted on occasion, "She's in the shower."
"Oh, dammit," Taylor sighed, "How are you? How was the show?"
"It was so good! She looked so good and everything," the grey eyed girl answered confidently, "I'm eating her snacks."
"I'm sure she doesn't mind," Taylor laughed, shaking her head, "Can you tell her I called when she's out? I'm getting another call."
"Yeah, see ya."
"Bye, Charlie," Taylor ended the call and connected to the other line, realizing it was her mother who had dialled her.
Jo stepped out of the shower and changed before she came back to the main section of the dressing room. Charlie was texting a friend on her phone, a half eaten bag of grapes next to her.
"All good?" Jo inquired, tossing her sweaty outfit into a dirty clothes bag and reaching for her half finished bottle of water.
"Tay called, said to tell you. Also, are these grapes cotton candy flavoured? What the fuck?" Charlie held up the bag, showing Jo the label.
"They're delicious and nutritious," Jo hummed with a bit of a teasing tone, "I'll call her back on the bus, we gotta go if we're gonna make it out before most of the traffic."
