"I've loved you three summers now, honey, but I want them all," Taylor sung on Saturday Night Live, her eyes wandering over to the brunette. She was dressed in all green, papers hung from the ceiling to make it seem like she was frozen in time.

Jo was in New York between shows, this was when they were originally supposed to be able to see each other before Jo scheduled their anniversary holiday in the UK and surprised the other girl.

Taylor wrapped on her performance on Saturday Night Live and they finished up, heading out to the car hand in hand, "I like hearing you sing that."

Taylor glanced over at Jo, returning her eyes to the pavement she was trying not to trip on, "I don't sing for you very often."

"We don't really play for each other, it's like bringing work home," the brunette replied, "But I like when you sing, it's so dreamy and makes my heart melt."

Taylor chuckled at that, "You're sweet."

"It's why you married me."

"Mm, I married you?" Taylor teased the singers slip up.

"You know what I meant! You made me nervous and I picked a bad word choice," Jo opened the car door for Taylor and let her slide onto the seat. She got in after her, the grey SUV pulling up to a party at a Japanese restaurant a while later.

Inside the restaurant was a large group of Taylor's friends, including Gigi Hadid, Martha Hunt, Brendon Urie and some of the people from SNL. They took a seat and Jo swiftly reached for a glass of water, taking a sip and setting her hand down on the table as she began to catch up with some of the people she had met many times before.

Jo felt fingers land on top of hers as she was in the middle of talking about her tour with Brendon. She didn't even need to look over to latch her fingers around it and bring it up to her mouth. She chastely kissed the knuckles and brought their hands back down, holding it proudly on the table.

Taylor felt the butterflies in her stomach begin at the simple gesture. Something that shouldn't need to be put on such a pedestal stood tall, rewriting history in its own way.

A bit into dinner, Josephine turned her head and looked to Taylor, "How is your food? Do you want to try some of mine?"

"It's good," Taylor replied, shaking her head to the second question. She put some more in her mouth with her right hand, her left still in Jo's grasp under the table.

That was Taylor's favourite thing about dating a left handed person, they could hold hands and still do multiple things if Taylor sat on the right side.

"So, do I sense a rock... emo era coming up soon for you?" Brendon teased Jo.

"Uhm... absolutely not! You know I was kind of thinking of doing the same shit I have been doing and not giving a fuck," Jo replied blankly.

"She's thinking of going with a rainbow theme and adding a tablespoon of glitter to every album packet and merch order!" Taylor chuckled, squeezing Jo's hand.

"So you're not allowed to tell?" Brendon laughed once he understood the sarcasm.

"I am contractually obligated to not do pretty much anything until after my tour. I can write but I'm not recording and no revealing anything."

"That's odd," Brendon furrowed his eyebrows.

"My record label is concerned about me going awol if I overwork myself and burn out again."

"Which is something I totally agree with," Taylor chimed in, "Tour is enough and you need some time to reset."

"It's probably for the best," Jo agreed softly, taking a sip of her freshly refilled glass of wine.
