Jo and Taylor arrived at Long Pond Studios in upstate New York early that morning. Well, too early for Taylor, who slept on the car ride up. The filming was supposed to take place a few days later but Aaron wouldn't be able to make it unless they pushed it up, cutting their engagement celebrations short.
Their families had taken the news with an overwhelming amount of joy. Both halves of the couple were excited to properly tell them and not just leave it at the photo sent, they had spent the day prior sharing their exciting news.
They were sure that it would end up in the tabloids but it wasn't the first time news had broken of their apparent engagement and they were okay with that. The picture would have been something huge to have leaked but they trusted everyone Taylor sent it to.
"We're here," Jo gently shook the blonde's shoulder and waited for her to stir before she opened the door of the car and walked around to Taylor's side to open it for her.
The blonde stretched, rubbing her eyes to remove the sleep. Jo grabbed their backpacks from the backseat, slung her's over her left shoulder and carried Taylor's down near her waist.
Taylor was okay with carrying it herself but Jo stopped her by moving it away when Taylor attempted to reach for it, making the blonde scoff but smile and look down at the gravel surrounding their shoes.
"I'm hugging them," Taylor warned the brunette as they walked up to the door. They'd all been very careful and worked with a safety coordinator so that they could do the recording with no masks or major concerns regarding the pandemic.
"I didn't expect you to try and refrain from doing so," Jo snickered as she locked the car and shoved the key into Taylor's backpack.
Taylor was so excited to see her friends, chattering away before they could even acknowledge Jo standing behind her. Jo gave Aaron a small nod as he glanced at her while Taylor went about literally buzzing around his studio, so excited to see it in person for the first time after hearing about it for months.
"Congratulations," Jack said with a smile.
"Couldn't have done it without you," Jo elbowed him playfully while insinuating at a thank you for picking up the ring for her, "Pfft, look at her touching all the sound stuff. She hasn't been in a studio in too long."
"Speaking of not being the studio for so long, I received an email from your manager telling me you need to get back out there and to poke and prod you for a song."
"I brought my shit, Jack. But seriously, poke me and see what happens."
"Good," Jack replied with a laugh, going to get a water bottle, "When Taylor and Aaron are recording their interview part tomorrow we can get something done."
"We're here for a few days, I've got- three things I want you to look at."
"Jo, baby? Do you have the car keys? I forgot to bring the thank you gifts in," Taylor came back into the room.
"They're in your backpack, the gifts too. Front pocket."
"Thank you," Taylor pecked Jo's cheek as she took the bag, setting it down on the couch to retrieve them and hand them over to the men with excitement.
