Sorry it's late my friends, I've been working like crazy this week and sometimes that'll make these late <3

"No way!" Taylor leaned forward on the couch and shouted, startling Benji, who had been seated with his rear paws against her thigh, "Did you see that Cornelia Street sold?!"
"The townhouse?" Jo feigned disinterest and confusion, "How did you find that out?"
"Swifties. There's a sold sign on the front and everything! I feel so bad for whoever bought it, the place is a fan nightmare nowadays apparently."
"Can't be much worse than the New York place some days," Jo chuckled sheepishly.
Taylor hummed her response, zooming in on the picture in her feed before continuing to scroll, "It was probably either bought by an oblivious idiot or a super fan with big pockets."
"Maybe someone bought it because they liked the house?" Jo suggested, trying to keep her cool.
"It's a nice house but you know what I mean," the blonde sighed as she leaned back in her seat.
"Well whoever it is, they're probably very lucky to have a place that holds so much of our history. I love that house, we fell in love there."
"On that couch..."
"On the roof..."
"A few other places," Taylor smirked, looking back down at the device in her hand, "It sold for eleven and a half million. Jesus."
"Maybe they bought the furniture too, cost a little extra."
"The furniture was good," she shrugged, recalling how she too had asked the owner leave all the furniture when she rented it out. There were many nights spent finding little touches she hadn't seen before, that was, until Jo came along and distracted her, "Why are you defending the house?"
"Because I have good memories there, and you're... like, shitting on it."
"I am not shitting on it," Taylor scoffed as she clicked her phone off, "I just feel bad for whoever bought it. I mean, it's my fault because I wrote a whole song about it but it's not somewhere you could comfortably live all the time and not be bothered."
"Maybe it's a vacation home, Tay. Stop worrying about it, I'm sure they did their research about buying it before they bought it," Jo sighed. She tried to distract herself with her phone, but that quickly turned into nothing.
The brunette stood up and grabbed the sweater she had taken off earlier from the back of the chair, turning to look at Taylor for a moment.
She admired how the blonde had delved into something interesting, chewing on her bottom lip. It made Jo forget for a moment how upset she felt because she had bought the house and she couldn't tell Taylor and risk ruining the surprise, "I'm going to go lay down for a while, I have a bit of a headache."
"Do you want me to bring you some water or Tylenol?"
"No, it's alright. I think I still have a water bottle on my nightstand anyways."
Later that day, Jo slipped the ring into her backpack and zipped that pocket shut. They had plans to go over to Taylor's mother's house for dinner. Scott had drove up from Florida to see her and spend a few days in the area so Andrea's house was the easiest place to meet at, especially considering that even divorced, Taylor's parents remained friends for their children.
"Ready?" Jo hummed as she put the shoulder strap on while walking to the door. Taylor nodded and turned the lock on the handle, her keys already in hand to lock the deadbolt once the door was shut.
