Paris: Part one of THREE :)
May 24th, 2019
At Café de Flore, Jo sat across from her girlfriend while drinking coffee as they waited for their food to arrive. Taylor had work to do in Paris and Jo simply couldn't resist the opportunity to travel together, even if she did have time to kill while Taylor was otherwise occupied.
"I wish I had learned another language," the brunette admitted shortly before their food arrived at the table. She had thoroughly enjoyed trying to pronounce the menu, and butchering it at that.
"You still can," Taylor reminded her, "We are young, we could learn together."
"What language would we even learn?" Jo chuckled just as the plates were set down in front of them, "Merci."
The waitress smiled at Jo's horrible French accent and walked away, giving Taylor the opportunity to reply, "French? Spanish?"
"That involves actually learning a language though..."
"It sounds daunting," Taylor nodded, studying her food before she took a bite. She was always afraid that someone in a restaurant would want to poison her, so she looked for obvious signs like green goo, anything that released smoke, or battery acid.
"There's not going to be rat poison in your meal, darling."
"You cannot promise that."
"No, but I don't believe the French hate you enough to end your life. I'm pretty sure we have established this. Kanye is no where near us."
"Neither is Kennedy," Taylor remarked when she realized Jo had developed her same habit.
"Shh, it's because you made me paranoid," the younger woman blushed, going in for a large bite and humming as she nodded to express that it was good.
They ate and laughed, avoiding the wandering eyes who they knew were landing on them more than not. It might not have been as bad as it was in America, but two of the biggest names in the music industry were sitting together at a very public table in the middle of a restaurant, and that drew attention regardless of how ordinary they acted.
"I am going to miss this," Jo said while looking at the ground, making Taylor's smile drop during their walk after their meal had ended. Security trailed behind them, unaware of the paparazzi that had been tipped off by someone while they were still at the restaurant.
"You say that like you are dying," the blonde grumbled, "You are going on tour, and you aren't even leaving until the beginning of September."
"But I already know I'm going to miss you," her brown eyes spoke louder than her words there.
"You will see me, baby. You're going to be gone until April, but we'll have all the holidays, your birthday, breaks. You got a lot of breaks in there, which I know you will need. I'm only a phone call away."
"I know," Jo exhaled through her nose, nodding in agreement. Taylor tightened her grip around Jo's fingers, offering a comforting warm smile to her girl.
"Hey! This is where I filmed the Begin Again music video, right here," Taylor let go of Jo's hand abruptly and walked over to it with amazement, looking around to see what had changed.
