Delilah's POV-

I had been wanting to get a tattoo for a little while now but I haven't told anyone. I wasn't a 100% committed to it yet so I didn't want to tell anyone and then not actually do it. I wanted to ask Josh to see if he thought I should do it since he has a couple tattoos. I was a little nervous for the pain and if I regretted getting it. I knew I wouldn't regret it because what I wanted to get was important to me. 

D- hey bubby

I say walking into our room and sitting on the bed next to him

J- hey baby what's up

D- I have a question

J- ok what's up is everything ok

D- yeah everything's fine but I just need some advice

J- I will try to do my best

D- So I have been wanting to get a tattoo for a little while but I'm not really sure if I want to do it and that's why I didn't tell you because I didn't want to tell you and then not actually do it

J- that's great baby and I understand but why are you not sure? Is it because it might hurt and of what you want to get?

D- I know what I want to get and it's important to me and I guess the pain I don't really know

J- what are getting if you don't mind me asking

D- I want to get my dad's death date in roman numerals

About 2 years ago my dad died in a car accident. A drunk driver hit him and then ran off. I took it really hard and kind of fell into a deep hole. I was really close with my dad and it's been about 2 years since he passed. I had always thought about getting that tattoo but never took myself seriously until now. When I was falling into that hole me and Josh had only been dating for a few months but he pulled me out and kept me on my feet. That's when I knew I wanted to be with him forever.

Josh's POV-

Delilah came into our room and told me she needed some advice.  I'm not good with advice, never have been never will be. But I told her I would try my best. She told she had been thinking about getting a tattoo. I have a few tattoos myself but I wasn't expecting her to ask about a tattoo. I guess she was planning on telling me but didn't want to because she was unsure. She told she wasn't unsure because of what the tattoo was. I really wanted to know what it was so I asked er and she said that it was her dad's death date in roman numerals. I knew when she said what she wanted that I had to convince her to get it. She was really close with her dead and when he died it hit her hard. I know her and know that this was extremely important to her.

Delilah's POV-

J- I think you should get it

D- I want to but I don't know I'm just nervous I guess

J- I think this tattoo is perfect for you. They always say make sure your tattoos are meaningful, this is the definition of that. I know your nervous but I know how much this means to you and I think once you get it you are going to fall in love with it

He was right and I knew it. I sat there for a moment making sure I was fully committed to it.

D- I want to do it

J- that's my girl

He pulled me in for a warm comforting hug. He is amazing at giving hugs

J- He is so proud of you I hope you know that

He whispered in my ear while we were hugging

J- so where are you going to get it?

D- either on my ribs or on my wrist

J- I'm excited for you baby

*** Skip one week ***

J- you ready babygirl

D- I think so

Today was the day I was getting my tattoo. My first tattoo actually. I was really excited but nervous at the same time. I decided I was going to get it on my ribs. Josh did give me a warning and said it was probably going to hurt a little more but that he was going to be there to hold my hand the entire time. We finally pulled up to the place and at this point I was more excited than nervous. We walked in and got checked in. And then we went back.

J- don't be nervous your going to be fine

He grabbed my hand and squeezed it a little bit. The guy doing my tattoo walked me through the process and then I laid down and then we got started. When the needle touched my skin I squeezed josh's hand trying to think about it. I'm a sensitive person if you can't tell.

*** Skip to after the tattoo is finished ***

It hurt but only a little bit. I'm really glad Josh talked me into doing it because just like he said I love it so much. Just like always Josh is there for me through thick and thin!
