josh's pov:

it all happened at once... i couldn't believe my eyes when i saw that nessa and chase were cheating on charli and i. it was just a few days ago that she was complaining to me about the dick pics he was sending her. apparently it didn't bother her to much. for the past few days i've just been laying in bed not wanting to get up. i broke up with nessa and charli broke up with chase. i decided to invite charli over just to talk. i know charli isn't to sad about her break up with chase because their relationship was pretty toxic. me on the other hand.. i really loved nessa and i still don't understand why i wasn't good enough for her.

i had just woken up and it was 10. charli was coming over at 11:30 so i needed to get up. i have to clean up the house and stuff like that. i rolled out of bed and went to the bathroom. i used the bathroom and brushed my teeth. i put on some jeans and a t-shirt. i don't usually make my bed so i just touched it up a little bit. after i was finished i went downstairs to clean up down there. luckily the dish pile wasn't to big so i just put them in the dishwasher. i tidied up the kitchen and the living room with enough time to spare. i sat down on the couch and turned on tv. i have no clue what i was watching but it was pretty interesting. soon enough i get a text from charli saying she was here. i go over to the door to greet her. she walked through the door with chick-fil-a and running to the table

j- i mean if you would've told me you had all of that i could've helped you

c- it was kinda supposed to be a surprise but i got a a lot more than i thought and i'm starving so can we please eat

she says kind of out of breath

j-  yes ma'am 

i joined her at the table and she gave me my food. it was nice just to sit there and talk. we haven't talked in a while and i kind of forgot how much i missed her.

c- hey josh

j- yeah

c- how have you been holding up? you haven't posted on social media and if i know you at all you've been laying in the bed for days.

she says sound genuinely concerned

j- oh um well you would be right. i mean it hurt. i really loved her but i guess it was for the better.

c- yeah i really thought chase loved me but he didn't and i don't know why it took me this long to realize that

j- do you uh want to watch a movie?

i say ready to get off of the topic

c- yess

she says excitedly 

we both get up from the table and go to the living room. i grab the blanket off the back of the couch and sit down next to her.

c- ohhhh we should watch the kissing booth 

j- do you really want to watch that 

c- yes josh. i haven't watched it in a long time

she says as a matter of fact

j- oh yeah

c- mhm

j- the kissing booth it is then

c- yay

she said 

i spread the blanket over us as the movie began. charli cuddled up to my side and rested her head on my chest. i couldn't help but feel butterflies. i rested my arm around her and pulled her in a little closer.
