Josh's POV:

Maya and I were on the way to the mall to look for a few things. Maya is my 2 year old daughter. Her mom and I had been together for quite some time. When she found out she was pregnant, she was hella pissed. She told everyone that it was my fault but in reality she told me she was on birth control and that we didn't need a condom. So we didn't use one. She kept the baby and as soon as maya was born, she gave me custody. I wasn't just going to let my child be put in foster care even though her father can take care of her. Ever since Maya was born she has been my number one. My main focus is her. I put all of my energy into her. I mean I am still young. When she was born I was 17. I bought us a house and we have our own little family. I have so many things that I still need to do in life but I looked at it as now I have someone to share it with. 

M- daddy

J- yeah baby

M- do I has a mommy?

J- am I not good enough for you

I say sarcastically

M- daddy

she says seriously

J- Maya

M- you knows me lovey you so much

J- and I love you so very much

M- but all of my friends have mommies and daddies and I want a mommy too

J- well baby your mommy was not ready to be a mommy yet so it's just me and you princess

M- you is being so dwifficult right now

J- how am I being difficult

M- you know

I just laugh at her sarcasm and silliness. We pull into the parking lot of the mall and find a parking spot. I get out of the car and walk over to her door to get her out.

J- ok maya I need for you to listen for daddy

M- otay

J- there are going to be a bunch of people in here so you need to stay with daddy at all times. There might be cameras or flashing lights so just makes sure your with daddy ok

M- dats scary

J- I know but you're going to be just fine

I get her out of her car seat and place her on my hip. She knows how to walk but we are in a parking lot full of crazy drivers and I don't want to risk anything. She rests her head in the crease of my neck. I pulled up her favorite TV show on my phone and gave it to her as a distraction. We walked into the mall and luckily there we no swarms of people. We made it into the first store safely and started looking around. After about 20 minutes of shopping in the store we checked and moved onto the next store. As we were walking to the next store, a big swarm of people came up to me. They were all crowding around me and I could no longer feel Maya's hand in mine. I started to panic.

J- could you guys please give me some space

they didn't listen. they kept coming closer and closer and I no longer and any clue of where my daughter was.

Maya's POV:

Daddy and I were walking to the next store when a bunch of people came up to us. I tried to hold onto daddies hand but there were people in the way and pushing me. 

M- daddy

he didn't answer me. I kept walking to try and get out of the crowd. Once I finally did, I didn't know what to do. I had tears rolling down my face. I just wanted my daddy.
