After the door closed, Blaine mumbles a confused and slightly disappointed "wow" before he turns around and goes home.

Kurt runs in the living room where Burt and Carol sit and watch a movie before Carol has to go to her shift later. Kurt pauses the movie, standing in front of the adults and they could tell by the expression of the boys face that something is wrong. "Hey kiddo. You're good? You look sick" Burt says, looking at the sick boy with the sad face. "I- I have a fever" Kurts voice is shaking as he says that and sits down between the two adults. "Blaine noticed" the boy adds, feeling Carols back of her hand pressed against his forehead. When she takes her hand away she nods "He's right. But you'll be okay sweetie. You know how this works. Go and pack some stuff and we'll drive you to the hospital for observation. I have a shift later anyways so I could switch departments and take care of you.". Kurt nods and feels his fathers arms around him, giving him comfort. "Did you finally tell Blaine?" The father asks his son who shakes his head in response and explains "I panicked. I told him I need to rest and that he should go home.". "Oh honey" Carol mumbles, also hugging the boy in the middle.
They stay like this for a minutes until Kurt moves again "I go and tell Finn. Then I'll pack my bag so we can leave in time". With that he stands up and leaves to go to his brothers room while Carol calls the hospital to switch departments and tell that Kurt will come.

After knocking Kurt enters the room and finds Finn on his bed, on FaceTime with Rachel. As he sees his brothers face he turns to the phone and says "Rach I have to but I'll call you later". Without waiting for a response he ends the call and looks to his brother who sits down next to his brother. "You need to do me a favor or two" Kurt says and starts explaining when Finn nods "I have a fever. Carol and I go to the hospital when she has her shift and dad will probably come along. As soon as I'm in my room he'll come back and bring dinner for you two. I seriously doubt that I get out of there tomorrow again so can you come to me after school and bring me my homework and stuff? This way I won't miss that much until I can go again. Second favor is: don't tell Blaine. I didn't tell him yet because earlier when he noticed that I have a fever I panicked. But when he finds out it should be because I tel him. Can you do that for me?". "Sure. You concentrate on getting healthy and I'll bring you your school stuff. Promise" Finn says and hugs his brother.

Both of the brother seem very mature for their age of 15. The way how calm Kurt explained Finn what's up shows the other brother how strong and mature he is. As well as the fact that he still wants to do his school work so he won't miss a lot of that. Finn also is very mature. Sure he can act very childish but not every brother would take care of their siblings like that.

After the hug Kurt goes in his room and packs a few things. Toothbrush, toothpaste, his skin care products, some comfortable yet stilistish clothes, his pyjama, laptop and some more stuff until his bag is full. After he's done it's time to drive to the hospital.

It took Kurt 30 Minutes to get rid of his das and now he sits in his room in the hospital and watches cartoons to lighten his mood. Carol checks after him and brings him dinner.

As it gets later Kurt gets a message from the person he wishes would be with him right now but also thinks that he would leave if he finds out.

Blaine: Hey Baby. I hope you feel better soon. I can visit you tomorrow and bring you some soup or something if you want.
Kurt: No thanks. I'm in good care. I'll call you tomorrow okay?
Blaine: Okay. Get some more rest now. I go to bed myself now. Goodnight.
Kurt: I will. Goodnight.

After this conversation Kurt focuses on the cartoons again and falls asleep while watching.
Late that night Carol comes in again, sees Kurt asleep and turns off the laptop and put out the light before letting the boy sleep and going back to work herself.

In the next morning when Carols shift ends she doesn't bother to go home. Instead she goes to Kurt, sees him still sleeping and sits down next to his bed.
Sure Finn is her son and she loves him unconditionally but Kurt is her son now too and she loves him just as much as her son.

She watches the boy for a while as her eye lids grow heavier and she falls asleep. She knows that her husband will come to visit Kurt before work so she just waits for him.

Kurt wakes up about two hours later and looks over to the woman sitting next to his bed. Slightly smiling he stands up and covers her with a blanket before he goes back to his bed again. He loves that Carol is there for him but he also knows how much she worries and he don't want that. He'll be fine right?

Since Carol is sleeping Kurt doesn't want to make any noises with playing music or watching something on his laptop.

So he just takes a book and starts reading. Now that he's awake he cant sleep anymore. There are too many thoughts floating his mind. Maybe he should tell Blaine? What if he leaves him? Or maybe Kurt keeps his secret. He'll be fine right? There's no point in worrying. Not himself, not anyone else and especially not Blaine.

He doesn't read much, about one page, until the door opens and Burt walked in. Before he can says something, Kurt shushes his dad and points to Carol who still sleeps peacefully. Burt nods and goes to his wife, kissing her on the forehead and whispers "Honey? Come on wake up. I take you home.". Kurt smiles at Burts softness around his family and sees how Carol wakes up and tiredly rubs her eyes. She stands up and goes to Kurt, followed by Burt, where she presses the back of her hand on the boys forehead. "Still fever..." she mumbles, kissing the boy on the forehead. Burt lays his son a hand in the shoulder and says "I have to go to work now kid. I just wanted to say good morning and see how you are. I'll come back when I close the shop.". Kurt nods and the two adults leave after saying good bye. Once Kurt is alone he starts his laptop and put on cartoons again.

Cartoons. Yes cartoons are great. They might be childish but they never fail to make Kurt laugh. Whenever Kurt felt like he needed some comfort and something to laugh he put on a cartoon. And he often needed comfort in the past. People told him already that he's to old to watch cartoons but he doesn't care what other people say. Cartoons are brightening his mood and that's just what he needs now. While watching Spongebob Squarepants he gets bored, like so often in this lonely time, a d starts writing and sketching in his fashion notebook.
For a second Blaine thought about writing Kurt a good morning message but he could swear that the boy is probably still asleep so he'll write him later.
In school he sees Finn with Rachel at her locker so Blaine walks to them. "Hey Finn. How's Kurt?" Blaine asks before Finn could shush him and causes Rachel to frown. Then she turns around to her boyfriend, furiously "He's sick?!? Is that why you hung up yesterday? Why didn't you tell me? He's my best friend!". "Yes that's why I hung up. Kurt wanted to tell me that he's sick and can't come to school. And to answer your question Blaine I don't know.

I didn't talked to him yet" Finn explains and then says fast And if you would excuse me, I have to go to the toilet.". While Rachel obviously didn't noticed anything strange, Blaine goes after him. Something is odd. First Kurt panics and now Finn acts strange too? "Hey Finn" Blaine says, entering the bathroom, seeing Finn how he looks at himself in the mirror and his hands on the sink. "Are you following me?" the tall boy asks, laughing nervously but stops as Blaine answers dry "Yes". "I wanted to ask if there's something I can do like bring him his schoolwork or something." the bad boy continues but Finn shakes fast, maybe too fast, his head "No! I got that covered. Now excuse me but I really should go back to Rachel". And with that he leaves before Blaine could say another word. "Odd" Blaine mumbles but instead of thinking much about it he takes out his phone and starts texting.

Blaine: Hey Baby. Are you feeling better? School is boring without you.
Kurt: School is already boring for you even with me there. I'm the same as yesterday.
Blaine: Okay. Sure you don't want me to come?
Kurt: No I'm good
Blaine: Okay. Get better soon.
Kurt: Okay

That's also odd but Blaine can't focus on that now. First he has classes to attend.
After school Blaine goes home and makes his homework, knowing that Finn brought Kurt his. Knowing that once Kurt is done with his homework, he'll call Blaine.
