Part 10

The last months have been great. Kurt and Blaine still grow stronger and the former bad boy actually enjoys being a part of the New Directions. Since their fight, if coy could call that a fight, Blaine promised to inform himself more about cancer. He did researches, read articles and talked a lot about it with Kurt and his family and how they handled it.
The New Directions won Sectionals and now have to prepare for Regionals. Practice is hard and even tho Blaine is slightly exhausted, it's nothing compared to Kurt. School is giving Kurt a rough time. Most of the time Finn or Blaine protect him from getting bullied even tho he doesn't get bullied that much since Blaine stood up for him but this is one of the last problems Kurt has. In class he can hardly concentrate anymore. Did he really got that used to public schools that all his excitement has gone? Kurt didn't though so but this must be the reason why he doesn't pay attention in class like he used to. He also has to study a lot more at school since he can't concentrate on his homework either. Sometimes he studies until late the night. He doesn't get much sleep and the sleep he gets is uneasy and sweaty. Yes sweaty. He sweats in the night and not because of some dreams. He just does but he doesn't even think about telling someone. They would just worry about him.

Sure his friends and family noticed but school is giving everyone a hard time at some point so no one really questioned it. Kurt is very mature so if something is wrong he would come to them. Would he?

Today is Glee practice again and the group gathers together in the auditorium to work on their choreography. They practiced a few steps already and now Mr. Schue explains the next ones.
In the middle of his sentence he stops and looks at Kurt "Kurt your nose is bleeding". "Of Fuck" Kurt mumbles, running to the bathroom. "Blaine stay" Finn says, knowing that he wanted to go after "I'll go after my brother" and with that he's gone too.

When Finn enters the bathroom, he finds Kurt holding a handkerchief at his nose and crying his heart out. "Kurt?" Finn asks carefully but his brother doesn't react so the two boys just stay silent until Kurts nose stops bleeding. "What else do you have? Nose bleeding can't be the first symptom. And don't pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about. You seem off since a few days" Finn says, waiting for Kurt to answer "I can't concentrate, I'm tired and I sweat at night... I thought that maybe the first two come from school but it gets worse...".

Finn hugs the other boy, who seems more pale than usually, and mumbles "Come on. I'll drive us home and we'll talk with mom and Burt about that.". "I need my stuff from the auditorium and I need to see Blaine." Kurt says and loosens himself from his brother.

The two boys go back to the auditorium, where the others continue me practicing. "You're okay Kurt?" Mr. Schue asks, looking at the two pale boys. "Mr. Schue I need to talk to you" Finn says, going away from the rest with the teacher. Kurt goes to his boyfriend and pulls him aside. "Baby what's wrong?" Blaine asks and frowns, looking into Kurts ocean eyes which are on the edge of crying. "Blaine... I show symptoms again. Not just a little fever. Finn and I will talk to our parents and we'll drive to the hospital. It could be random but if not, there is the possibility that my cancer is back." Kurt explains, tears rolling down his cheeks and Blaine is no better. Kurt gets hugged by the smaller boy, trying not to break down in front of the others. They don't need to know until Kurt knows if his cancer is really back. "You'll be fine. I know it. And call me when you have the result." Blaine says.

They separate again and Kurt looks to the rest of the group. "There's a possibility that I won't practice with the others tomorrow" Kurt mumbles more to himself than to Blaine who stays optimistic "Let's first hear what your doctor says".
Suddenly Kurt stops looking around. That's the problem with leukemia. All the symptoms come so suddenly and right now he feels dizzy and everything around him is spinning. He grabs Blaines shoulder, focusing on the curtains behind him. Hoping that the room stops spinning, he mumbles "Finn" and then a bit louder so his brother hears him "Finn!". Fast Finn runs to his brother and asks worried "What?". "I'm dizzy. We should go home" Kurt says, squeezing Blaines shoulder. "Come on. Sit down a moment and when you feel better we go" Blaine says and guides Kurt to one of the seats. "Blaine, Finn and I go. You stay here and do glee practice."Kurt says, now holding Blaines hand who sits next to him and on Kurts other side Finn. "But I don't want to let you alone" Blaine says with puppy eyes but Finn shakes his head "You can't do much for him in hospital. He does the tests alone and we basically sit outside and wait. You stay here and take care that the others don't ask to much. They'll know when it's time for them to know".
