Part 11

The next day Finn and Blaine are at school, not looking very happy but trying not to be to obvious. "How's Kurt?" is all they hear. The New Directions are all worried about Kurt but the two boys never give an answer. They just tell them to wait for Glee Club.

Kurt hardly got any sleep this night. Everything seems so scary again and the memories about his mother and the nightmares which are coming back doesn't make it easier.
At day when Burt talked to Kurt about schools he luckily agreed to talk to principal Figgins. Usually he wanted Kurt to get homeschooled by his old school again and that's plan B but talking to Figgins about the possibility of being homeschooled at McKinley is worth a try.

In the noon, after Carols shift, she and Kurt drive to McKinley. She lets the boy out and drives home while Kurt enters the building and goes straight to the choir room. All his friends are already on their seats and Blaine stands in front of them, singing. Smiling Kurt walks in and sits down next to his brother to watch his boyfriend.

After the song Kurt goes to the front and approaches the teacher "Mr. Schue I would like to say something". Just as Blaine wants to sit down, giving the boy some space, Kurt takes his hand and pulls him close. Knowing that Kurt feels save in his arms Blaine hugs his boyfriend from behind and whispers "You can do this". Kurt nods and takes a deep breath, his eyes already on the edge of crying "You have to find a 12th member again. I was in the hospital yesterday and- and my leukemia is back. I'll start my chemotherapy tomorrow to fight the cancer but that means I'll be in hospital for the next four months at least and get homeschooled. What's after the five months is still unclear.". Finn stands up, also with tears in his eyes, and hugs his brother, not caring that Blaine still hugs the boy from behind. More and more people join the group hug around Kurt, wanting to comfort the boy.

Kurt stays the rest of glee club since he has to wait for someone to drive him back to the hospital. As much as he wants to sing and dance or perform in general, he just listens to the others. It was already a huge exception that Kurt was allowed to leave under his condition so he is okay with listening.
He feels slightly better than yesterday even tho he's still pale and sometimes breathes shortly which can be scary if it gets to extreme. Of course that always happens in the worst moments.

Finn and Rachel stay in front, singing a duet that could help them win at Regionals. Kurt sits on his place, next to Blaine, and suddenly feels his chest tighten again. Kurt looks to his right, Blaine looks to Rachel and Finn. Blaine never saw Kurt like that, just like the rest of the club, and that's for better so Kurt tries to keep breathing calmly. His breaths shorten more and more by the second and Kurt holds his hand on his chest, feeling it moving rather rapidly. No, this can't be happening. Not in from of the others.

Now Blaine also seems to notice that something is wrong so he turns to the boy on his left. "Baby are you okay?" he asks but Kurt shakes his head and mumbles under his breath "Finn". "Finn!" Blaine repeats louder so the tall boy can hear him. The music stops and the couple stops singing. When he hears his name Finn looks over to his brother, who tries to catch his breath, and runs over, kneeling down in front of him. With one hand on Kurts knee he looks his brother in the eyes and speaks calmly "Kurt you know what we do. We breath together okay?". Kurt nods, not caring about the others watching worried, with his ocean eyes full of panic. Together in. Together out. Blaine joins the two brothers. Together in. Together out.

It feels like the whole glee club held their breath until Finn and Kurt started breathing together and now breathes as one. All of them together in. Together out. In. Out. They breath for a minute or two and Kurt can feel the knot in his chest vanishing again. He sighs, feeling all eyes on him. "Sorry guys. I didn't wanted you to see that" he mumbles but Rachel, who took the place to his other side lays a hand on his shoulder, rubbing it slightly "It's okay Kurtie. You'll be okay.". "Sorry Rach but we'll finish the duet another time. I have to take Kurt back to the hospital before this happens again." Finn says, standing up again, but Blaine shakes his head "Stay here and sing with your girlfriend. I take care of Kurt. Of course only if that's okay for you to Babe". Kurt nods and stands up to hug his brother "I'm okay today with Blaine. See you tomorrow okay?". Finn holds his brother tight and nods "Okay but call me if you need me and I'll come to you". They break the hug and Kurt turns around to the rest "Well I guess that's a good bye for now. But we'll text and from I e time to another you'll come and visit right?". The group nods and Kurt adds "And I'll find a way to watch you at Regionals. Good luck.". After that he takes his boyfriends hand, who waves the group, and walks out to the car.
