Part 42

"Hey" Blaine says, not really knowing where to start. "Ask away. Why I was at the shop? Why I hid my fever? What I was thinking?" Kurt says, coming direcly to the point and the other boy nods wordless. "Okay so I'll answer the first question but before answering the other one I will ask you something back. I want to know what's going on between you and Sebastian" Kurt continues and once again Blaine only nods. He knew this was coming.

"I was at the shop because yesterday when you went to the toilet I accidentally saw the text from Sebastian" Kurt starts and gets interrupted by Blaine "You looked through my phone?". "No. I just saw the text" Kurt says, shaking his head, and continues "So after I saw the text I decided to go to the shop today and see what you're doing. I know it was dumb and I should've talked to you. Sorry".

Blaine nods, by now sitting on the edge of Kurts bed "I should've talked to you too which leads us to your question. After Sectionals I talked with Sebastian about his warning. He wanted to change but was afraid that he can't do it with someone motivating him, helping him and pushing him. Like I had you. I agreed to help him and didn't tell you because you don't like him".

"That's right" Kurt says "But that's not a reason to not tell me". "I thought that if I tell you" Blaine swallows, this is hard to admit "You tell me that I shouldn't help him because he's a bad influence". The smaller boy blushes in guilt. He knows that's something Kurt would never do but he still was afraid. By now it sounds silly that he was afraid of that.

Kurt sighs "Why would I ever tell you that? You can do what you want. I'm not a fan of that but in the end it's your decision". Blaine nods "I know. I'm sorry for not telling you". "I'm sorry for not telling you either. It was a stupid idea to go after you" Kurt says and sees the other boy nod "Especially with a fever, which brings us to the next point. What the hell were you thinking and why didn't you tell anyone?".

Before Kurt could answer his boyfriend shifts positions and sits down next to Kurt with an arm around him. "It was all too much. The exams are coming up, I was helping Nick and Jeff and I still had to study for myself. Then the thing between Rachel and Finn where both came to me to either complain about each other or ask about each other" Kurt tells

"And even tho we talked about that now it was part of the stress list I was worried what you do on the weekends, even more when I found out it has something to do with Sebastian. I guess I missed you".

Blaine is speechless for a moment. There are many things he wants to say and if he could all at the same but that's not possible so he starts with "You could've told me that you missed me. I can always make time for you. You also can say no from time to time. I know you want to help but your health is more important than Finn, Rachel, Jeff, Nick or anyone. This is about you. And if you would've told someone like Carol or so we could've find a solution".

When he's done saying what he want to say, Blaine wraps his other arm around the boy too, hugging him tightly. Kurt gladly snuggles into the warmth of his boyfriends embrace and closes his eyes for a second to enjoy the moment.

About an hour later Burt brings Kurt some clothes and other stuff the boy needs and since it's weekend Blaine tells Kurt that he'll stay over night. First Kurt wants to disagree but an hour ago he said that the missed Blaine so now that the boy offers to stay, Kurt gladly accepts.

Now finally accepting that he's in hospital and that there was no way this wouldn't have happened Kurt takes a nap, feeling exhaused from the happenings of the day. Blaine of course stays with him and studies a bit more. Since he helped Sebastian he hadn't as much time to study as Kurt did so now he uses the time to catch up.

About 4pm Kurt wakes up again, not feeling better but at least a bit more energetic. Enough to still start his laptop so he can study with Nick and Jeff for a bit more. It's the last day that they study since Dalton exams start Monday and Kurt wants to help his friends the last bit.

"If Sebastian really wants to change you can ask him if he wants to join us" Kurt says, making Blaine very happy "You would do that for him?". Kurt laughs "Yes silly. You apperantly did a lot for him and now I can help you. Also it was nice of him to give me his jacket". "I'll ask him" Blaine answers with a wide smile and kisses his boyfriends cheek.

Not even five minutes later Kurt has Nick, Jeff and Sebastian on video call, ready to help them study. Blaine sits next to him with his own school work, knowing that he probably won't understand a thing of the Dalton stuff anymore.

"How are you?" Sebastian asks, sitting down with his laptop at his desk properly. "Bit better thanks" Kurt answers and when he sees his friends confused looks he explains "I have a fever so I'm in hospital". He leaves out the drama, saving that for the next time he and Blaine go on a double date with the two Dalton boys.

Almost instantly the boys start to study and Blaine realizes that he was right about not understanding anything the Dalton boys have to learn. But since he can't concentrate on his own work anymore he just looks at Kurt, fascinated how easy it sounds when Kurt explains it.

After the group is done with studying they talk for a while about Sebastians jacket in hospial, when he could get it back, exams, music and Kurts fever. "Well I told Blaine that I'm not quite ready to take off the jacket but maybe it does me good not having it around for a bit" Sebastian says with a laugh and everyone joins.

The friends have to hang up when Lisa comes in with dinner. Only now the Dalton boys realize that they too should go to dinner slowly. So everyone says their goodbyes and goes to enjoy dinner.

After dinner Kurt and Blaine change to their pj's and get comfortable in bed. It's been an eventful day so naturally Kurt is exhaused but he still wants to watch a movie with his boyfriend.

He cuddles to Blaine, his head on his boyfriends chest, arm lazily wrapped around Blaines stomach, Blaines arms wrapped around him and one hand softly massaging his head. Just like that Kurt doesn't even makes it halfway through the movie before falling asleep.

The evening at the Hudson-Hummel house is quiet. At dinner no one says a word. They all think about Kurt and why he's in hospital now. They all feel guilty for not noticing.

Finn was learning with him a lot and he didn't saw it just because he looks exhausted himself and thought it was normal.

Carol asked the two boys if they're okay and let it go when Finn said that they study too much. She's a nurse. She should've known right?

Burt feels guilty too. He told the boys that all they need is a good sleep. How could he not see that his own son is sick and hides it from everyone?

No one says something. Secretly they know that the others feel guilty too but still no one says something, first wanting to sort their own thoughts before taking care of others. They jst eat in silence and go to bed early.
