Part 27

Today is the day of Regionals. Everyone is very exited but also nervous. Especially Kurt who experienced the last competition from the viewers perspective. But this time he'll be on stage. Kurt and Blaine also have another reason to be exited for today because they finally see their old friends again.

Luckily there's still time before the competition starts so Kurt and Rachel agreed on meeting at the entrance. "Kurtie!" Rachel calls him when she sees him and runs in his arms, hugging him tightly. Kurt stumbles a bit back but holds Rachel equally tight "Hey Rachel". "How are you?" he asks when they separate again. "Good. Exited. You?" Rachel answers short and Kurt agrees "Same and nervous". "That's normal" Rachel answers smiling and together they go in.

While searching for a place to talk the best friends pass Finn but Kurt just ignores him. Rachel sighs "He's sorry". "Okay. But still what he did was not okay and I'm not the person he should apolpzize to. Blaine is" Kurt explains. He just said that Finns action was not okay but he and Blaine only told Nick and Jeff what Finns words did since Nick wondered why Blaine didn't came over. "I know" Rachel answers and lets out another sigh.

When time has come the glee clubs start getting ready. The New Directions are up first, then Oral Intensity and last the Warblers.

Kurt is very nervous but luckily he has Blaine, Nick and Jeff to help him calm down. "Kurt we'll do amazing. We practiced so much for this. I know we'll be great" Blaine says before kissing him on the nose and then on the lips. Then they go to the audiance with the other Warblers to watch the New Directions perform.

The New Directions were amazing and while Oral Intensity performs the Warblers go backstage. Everyone goes on their positions and the closer they get to the performance the more he feels like he'll throw up on stage. But he keep remembering "I beat cancers ass twice. This should be eay right?". "Kurt stop worrying. Enjoy the feeling on stage. Believe me, it's truly amazing. You and Blaine will be great" Jeff says and Nick next to him pouts "And what about me?". "You'll be just as perfect as them" Jeff answers laughing and kissing hi boyfriend. Then he turns to Kurt again "Now turn around and look to the other side of the stage". Kurt turns around and sees Blaine standing next to Wes and Sebastian, talking about something. When Wes sees that Kurt looks to them he tells Blaine who turns aound, hows Kurt a thumb up and smiles encouraging. That was the only thing Kurt needs to feel better. That smile. "Thanks" He says, turning back to Jeff and hugs him.

Kurt loved the feeling of being on stage. It was amazing and just like the New Directions the Warblers were great. But there can only be one winner and so the judges go backstage to talk in private.

The New Directions won and the Warblers cheer for them. They got the second place but that doesn't matter because they had fun and that's the most important thing. Sure it's also kinda sad that they're out but Kurt and Blaine are still happy for the New Directions mostly because they're still friends.

"Hey. We're having a little party in our choir room and it's the weekend. You two wanna come?" Mercedes invites her two friends who gladly accept. They say goodbye to the rest of the Warblers and go with the New Directions back to McKinley.

In the choir room they start playing music while opening a bottle of cider. Everyone is talking and the two Warbler boys realize that they actually miss their friends. They miss sitting with the New Directions in the choir room with Mr. Schue standing in the front. Sure the Warblers also are amazing and Dalton is still the best for Kurt but you can love two places right?

At some time at the party Finn goes to Blaine who wants to get himself something to drink. "Can we talk? Please?" the tall boy asks. Blaine looks around and sees Kurt having fun and dancing with the girls so he nods "Okay".

Without anybody noticing they leave the room to talk in the hallway. "I want to apologize" Finn says but Blaine keeps silence so he continues "It's not my place to tell you how to take care of my brother. He's old enough to take care of himself and you did well looking after him when he was in hospital. I don't know why I thought that'll change. I guess I just had to get used to seeing him less. I'm really sorry for blaming you Blaine. You did nothing wrong".

Blaine stays silent for a minute or so, making Finn believe that he won't forgive him. "Say something please" he says and finally Blaine answers "First of all you should know which impact your words had on me. You regret it and I know it's not my fault but after our talk I couldn't leave him. I stayed with him and when he noticed that something is up with me we talked about it. We're working on it but by now I'm no longer out of the room than 20 minutes. Everytime I leave the room I think about our conversation, that I should look after Kurt and not leave him alone. But I can see that you're truly sorry so I'll forgive you". Finn lets out a breath he didn't know he was holding and says relieved "Thank you Blaine". "It's okay" the boy answers and both boys hug it out before going in again.

When Blaine closes the door behind him he sees Kurt looking at him, half worried, half confused. When Blaine goes to Kurt he can't even greet the boy before he starts asking "What did you both do outside? What did my brother want from you? Did he blame you for something again?". Blaine laughs quietly "Kurt it's all okay. He apologized". "What did you say?" the other boy asks curious and Blaine answers "I told him how his words affected me but since I could see that he's truly sorry I accepted his apology".

Speaking of the devil Finn approaches the couple "Kurt? Can we please talk again? I miss my little brother". Kurt sighs "I guess now that you apologized and know which power your words had it's okay. But I'm still older than you". "Thank you" Finn says relieved and hugs his brother tightly.

It gets later and Rachel notices while dancing with Kurt that her best friend slowly gets tired. "Do you want to go home Kurtie? It's been a pretty exhausting day" she asks him worried and Kurt nods so Rachel goes to get Blaine. She could get Finn too but as it was planned he'll stay at the party longer and spend the night at Pucks house for a boys night while the girls do a girls night at Rachels house.

The couple says goodbye to everyone and goes home.

At home Kurt says hi to his dad who watches a game in the living room. Carol is at her shift but left some leftovers in the fridge. Blaine and Kurt eat a bit and then go up to Kurts room.

Kurt and Blaine both change into their PJ's before getting into bed. Sure Kurt is tired but one episode of Alexa and Katie doesn't hurt. By now they're in the middle of season two but now they watch an episode that hits Kurt hard.

Until now the show was about going back to normal, showing high school life, friends, love and characters the same age as Kurt and Blaine. But this one episode is filled with flashbacks of her life with Leukemia, showing the time in which she was misserable. The flashbacks started with Alexa finding her hospital bag and somewhere at this point Kurt got lost in his own memory.

Kurt only comes back to realitly when Blaine waves his hand in front of him, calling him for the third time "Earth to Kurt". "Hm?" the boy answers, focused on reality again. "Penny for your thoughts" Blaine saying, knowing his boyfriend well enough to know that somethings in his mind. "It's about the hospital bag" Kurt says and stands up.

The boy goes to his wardrobe and opens it. Somewhere in there he finally finds what he's looking for and returns to the bed with two bags. "These are mine" The left one is from the first time and the right one from this time" Kurt explains, fis eyes fixed on the bags. Blaine stands up and goes to Kurt, hugging him from behind. "It's okay to think about those hard times baby. But look at the bags and then at you and where you're now. You made it so far and you're getting better with every day." Blaine says calm and Kurt smiles "You're right. Thank you". "Of course" the smaller boy answers "As long as we don't have to redo your room like they did with Alexas it'll be fine". Kurt laughs at Blaines response and Kurt is glad he could make him laugh. Kurt turns around, facing his boyfriend and kisses him gratefully. Blaine of course returns the kiss, both smiling into the kiss.

Then they separate again and Kurt packs the bags where they were before, in the corner of his wardrobe. "Now come. Let's go to sleep. It's late" Blaine says. Already back in bed again.

Kurt lays down too, cuddling with Blaine. The curly haired boy lays both arms around his boy. Their legs already tangled like it was automatically. "Good night B" Kurt mumbles, already starting to fall asleep. "Good night baby" Blaine answers smiling and turns off the light. And just like that hey both fall asleep.
