Someone wrote this song before,
And I could tell you where it's from.
The 4-7-3-6-2-5-1 to put my mind at ease. The phrase 'Someone wrote this song before', is typically used when literally saying that somebody actually wrote this song before, however in this particular event it means that something almost exactly like this if not exactly like this has happened before.
A/N: !Warning! The following content includes spoilers from the newest miraculous episode 'Strike back'.
Also, Emilie most likely died when Adrien was twelve because Gabriel always said "It's been two years since-" and Adrien is fourteen.!CW! The following chapter contains mentions of blood and death.
Gabriel was sitting at Nathalie's bedside, it had almost been a month since strike back, he had all of Ladybug's precious jewels but he hadn't made a single attack since strike back.
While holding her hand, he brushed a hand up against the ring on her finger and his matching one, but he felt as if he couldn't wear it on his ring finger so he had it on his middle finger.
He then remembered something from the grimoire she had created, they had the old guardian's grimoire, Master Fu, but Nathalie had made one of her own to keep track of her research on the miraculous.
He suddenly jumped out of his seat, and actually started moving for the first time in weeks, he dashed out of the patient room, running for the grimoire back at the Agreste Mansion.
Flashback:
Gabriel darted for the grimoire as his wife collapsed to the ground, sputtering blood.
His twelve year old son screaming and crying as his mother collapsed infront of him, Nathalie held him back.
"Shh, Adrien, she's going to he fine!" Nathalie teared up.
She tried pushing Adrien out of the bedroom but failed to do so,
"Em, we're going to get you help okay, just hold on, please. If not for Gabriel, if not for me, then for him, please." Nathalie begged as she looked at the child in the room.
"Mommy, mommy! No!" Adrien struggled to get out inbetween sobs.
"Promise me you'll look after him, look after them." Emilie gasped after swallowing some of the blood in her mouth.
"Em,"
"Nathalie! Promise me!" Emilie snapped inbetween tears.
"I promise." Nathalie sobbed.
Nathalie took Adrien into her arms before gently urging him to hug his mother.
"Nathalie, is my mommy gonna die?"
"She's-" Nathalie took a deep breath before deciding to ignore his question.
"I asked you a question." Adrien found confidence in his tone.
"Just hug mommy, Adrien." Nathalie replied.
He wrapped his arms around his mother and squeezed his eyes shut when he felt her cough violently, splotches of blood surrounded the trio.
"Nathalie... if-if I die, marry him, marry Gabriel," She panted with a smile, blood staining her teeth.
"What? No, Em. I could never do that to you," Nathalie responded.
"You have to," She wheezed.
"We've been best-bestfriends since diaper stages, I know you love him, I know you're in love with him." Emilie smiled.
Nathalie shook her head, teary eyed as the blonde woman took another deep breath in.
"Nathalie, I'm going to die, I know it, I know I am, so please, take care of our boys, okay?" Emilie tightly gripped Nathalie's hand and groaned lowly.
"Okay! Okay!" Nathalie's bottom lip trembled.
"I love you, Adrien, okay? Don't you ever forget that, mommy loves you so much." She stroked Adrien's back and rubbed Nathalie's hand as she took her final breaths.
"I love you Nathalie, tell my family and Gabriel that I love them so much." Emilie panted one last time before her eyes started drooping.
"And tell...tell-" She swallowed.
"Tell my son, about how he was crea-created."
"I love you...all...so...m-much." Emilie smiled softly as she lost consciousness.
Dead.
She was dead.
Adrien was sobbing violently now, as was Nathalie.
Gabriel then burst into the room with the grimoire, a large grin on his face.
"I found it!" He cried out in glee.
"Gabriel..." Nathalie looked at him with teary eyes and shook her head violently.
Gabriel's face immediately fell.
"Why can't you fix her, daddy?!" Adrien turned to him.
"You fixed her before, all the time!"
"Adrien, he can't fix her." Nathalie's voice shook.
"But this isn't the first time he has!" Adrien stomped a single foot, he was furious.
"Because no one can fix her,"
"Why not?! She's had these episodes before!"
"Because she's dead, Adrien. Mommy died." Nathalie tried holding in her tears but failed miserably.
"No she's not! No she's not..." Adrien teared up.
End Of Flashback:
Gabriel brushed a few stray tears away and continued sprinting, it wasn't long before he was back in Nathalie room with everything closed so he could look through the grimoire.
"The ring! Of course!" He exclaimed.
He quickly slid the ring off of her finger and waited a few seconds.
And just like that, her monitors started going wild and she started choking.
Nurses and doctors immediately rushed in, thankfully Gabriel had already hidden the grimoire.
"What's-What's happening?! Is she alright?!" He panicked.
"She's more than alright, Mister Agreste. I'm not sure what on earth you did but, you definitely did something.
"I don't understand."
"She was choking on her tube, wait, stay calm. She was choking on her tube because she can breathe on her own, that was her body's way of saying 'I can breathe again!'." The doctor smiled.
"Wow..." Gabriel sighed happily.
He watched as the nurse slowly pulled the tube out of her throat.
He might not have been able to save his wife but he was able to save his soulmate.
