"He just needs some rest, but he'll be fine." The doctor offered a smile at the expecting mother, "Good to know." Nathalie smiled back, resting her gaze on her new-found son.
"Thank you for coming." Gabriel gave a tight lipped smile, leading the doctor to the door.
Nathalie sat down on the bed, brushing back her sleeping son's curly hair as Gabriel lead the doctor out.
He came back a few minutes later, but instead of entering the room, Gabriel stood in the doorway and watched contently as his fiancé cradled her stomach in one hand and ran her fingers through their peculiar son's hair with the other.
He leaned against the door frame with a content smile on his face, "Nathalie." He called softly.
Her head shot up, eyes widened, then, a small smile settled on her face.
He strided over to the two of them and placed a hand on Nathalie's stomach.
Nathalie smiled a placed a hand on his cheek, the couple stayed silent throughout the interaction, that was until she heard her phone 'ping!'.
"Hold on, honey." She whispered and grabbed her phone.
"Penny wants to take me out to shop for the baby, you think I should go?" Her featured displayed evident worry making Gabriel smile faintly.
"Yes, my love, go. Here take my card...." his voice trailed off as he took his wallet out of his back pocket and handed Nathalie the black card. "And go and spend some money on our daughter." He grinned.
"No, Gabriel." She whined, "you already know how I feel about spending your money." She frowned.
"Yes but it's my money, and I'm saying it's okay." A soft smile made its way onto his face.
"Gabe...I can't, it makes me feel bad." She protested, trying to hand the card back to him.
Gabriel refused, "You have nothing to feel bad about, what's mine is yours, everything in this damn house is yours, my mind, my body, my heart, my soul. It all belongs to you, so do me a favour and just take the card."
Tears instantly coated the expecting mother's waterline.
"Gabriel..."
"Nathalie..."
"Fine, but I'm not going over a hundred euros. I have own money." She sighed.
"But I want you to use mine, spend like you've never spent before, and do not for a second feel guilty about it." Gabriel pressed a quick kiss to her forehead and then offered her a gentle smile.
Nathalie rolled her eyes, got up slowly and cradled his face in her hands. A smile crept onto her face as she cradled her fiancé's face, "I love you, I can't wait to marry you."
A small blush coated his cheeks a broad smile shone on his face, "I love you too, and I can't to officially call you my wife."
"No more correcting the people at restaurants, work or anywhere, you will be Mrs. Agreste." He grinned proudly.
Nathalie giggled and pressed her lips to his, swaying with him gently.
"Now go, and take the card, please?"
