I'm holding on (barely).
Mama's got a lot to learn (it's heavy).
I'm holding on (catch me).
Mama's got a lot to learn (teach me).A/N: hey, guys. Sorry I've been gone so long, I was getting my life back together🤞🏻
"Adrien! Come down here, please!" Gabriel yelled up the stairs, carrying the toddler inside of the house.
Nathalie followed behind the father and son, cradling her stomach while Simon carried his bags in.
Only a moment later, Adrien came rushing down the stairs, fixing his disheveled hair, but he froze upon seeing his father carrying a sleeping little boy inside their home.
"Who's this...?" Adrien whispered, trying not to wake the sleeping toddler.
"Adrien, this...this is your little brother, Timothée." Nathalie whispered, Gabriel quickly noticed her trembling frame and voice and pulled her into him with one arm, still supporting the baby with the other.
"My what?!" Adrien yelled, but quickly covered his mouth when he saw the child stirr in his father's arms.
"I know," Nathalie whispered, sniffling.
"Come, let's sit, we'll explain everything."
"I'll just put him to sleep upstairs and then I'll be right down." Gabriel whispered, quickly turning on his heel to then make his way upstairs.
____________________________________________The couple had now explained everything to the teenager, who now had tears in his eyes.
"There's no way to help him?" Adrien whispered, wiping his eyes.
"We don't know." Nathalie whispered back, blinking away the tears in her eyes.
Adrien then pulled the woman he called 'mom' into his arms, hugging her tightly, but still careful not to squeeze her belly.
"I'm so sorry, I had no idea." The teenger whispered, letting go to give his father a hug as well.
"It's okay, you wouldn't have." The now father of almost three pulled them both in, taking a deep breath as they all processed this new found information.
Adrien nodded softly, pulling away from the hug, his expression quickly changing from pure sadness and pity, to sadness and a bit of anger.
"So you cheated on my mother, right after she died?" The words dripped from his tongue like venom.
"And you, you were her friend, her best friend, and you just screwed her over like that?!" Adrien whispered, tears now rolling down his face as he turned to Nathalie.
Nathalie sucked in a sharp breath through her nose, her grip on her stomach becoming increasingly tighter as she felt the faniliar pain course through her.
"Adrien!" Gabriel yelled, quickly turning to Nathalie, kneeling in front of her. He placed one hand on her stomach and the other on her shoulder, reminding her to breathe.
Adrien instantly regretted what he was saying, as he knew that wasn't the case, but he couldn't help but feel betrayed on the behalf of his biological mother.
His anger had left him just as fast as it came as he gazed upon the woman who'd taken care of him his entire life like a mother would in such grave pain.
"I'm so sorry, maman. Are you okay?" Adrien panicked, tears filling his eyes as he watched her physically shake from the pain tearing through her body.
