a/n: this might be my last update for a while, i am so exhausted from everything and i don't know what people want to read anymore so it's all very stressful

The thud of footsteps behind you caused you to run faster. You didn't know who you were running from or why, you just knew you had to get to the black door. It was always the black door, every time.

For the first time, you swung open the door, although the sight you were met with made you wish you hadn't ran so fast. "Help," Natasha's weak voice called out to you. Never in your life had you ever seen the russian so vulnerable.

However, the metal bars kept you from getting to her. Your heart pounded in your chest at the sight of Natasha chained to a chair, beaten and bloody. "Get out," a man behind you spoke threateningly.

"Why are you doing this to her," your stomach was churning and your head was spinning. "Because of you," a spear was thrown straight through her chest, her once pleading gaze now a blank expression.

"Natasha," you fell to your knees, sobbing violently. Screams of her name fell from your lips as you tried to struggle out of the man's grip on you.

"Y/n," he held your arms to your body. "Y/n," his voice slowly faded away, but his tight grip didn't.

While this was happening, Natasha was woken up by your heavy breathing and shaking. When you cried out for her in your sleep, she knew what was happening and stopped you from almost falling off of the bed from thrashing around so much.

"Wake up," Natasha's worried tone met your ears. Immediately, you threw yourself into her arms, crying into her chest as your whole body shook in fear.

"Shh, I'm right here baby, I'm not going anywhere," she had one hand in your hair, holding you close to her as the other was wrapped around your waist while you clutched her shirt as if your life depended on it.

Nobody could make you feel as safe as Natasha did. "Detka," she pulled your head back, cupping your cheek in her hand. You looked up at her with glazed eyes, leaning into her touch as she felt her heart shatter at your tear stained cheeks.

When you bit your lip to stop yourself from crying again, she gently kissed you, causing your bottom lip to quiver when she pulled away. "Do you want to talk about it, malyshka?" she didn't try to push you to talk.

You nodded, although stayed silent for a few minutes, Natasha understanding you were trying to find the right words. "It was my fault," tears slipped down your face again as your girlfriend wiped them away with her thumbs.

She sat up, pulling you onto her lap, "what was?" You exhaled shakily, "they killed you." Frowning, she pushed some hair out of your face, "I'm here to stay, printsessa, whether you like it or not." You smiled a little, making her grin, "it's true. You're not getting rid of my ass any time soon."

Leaning up to kiss her, you giggled, "I'm glad." She lay you both down again, your head on her chest, "you better be, because my ass is glued right here." You looked up at her, cocking an eyebrow, "right here? To this bed? Is this why you're so lazy?" She scoffed, "says the one who doesn't get out of bed all day."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," you giggled before kissing her softly and playing with her fingers. "Come on, we're going on a walk," she announced. "It's 4am," you groaned. "You're the one who woke me up," she joked. You looked down at your hands, "I'm sorry."

She shook her head, slipping her jumper off and putting it on you, "don't worry about it, it just means I get to spend more time with my breathtakingly beautiful beau." You laughed, "what does that even mean." She shrugged, "I don't know, I heard Steve say it to Bucky."

Interlocking your fingers with hers, she dragged you outside and to the forest nearby. You both sat next to a lake, admiring the wildlife, especially the fireflies. Natasha had always loved them, she told you about Melina explaining bioluminescence to her and Yelena the first time she took you to this spot.

Laying your head in her lap, she smiled down at you, the moonlight giving you a ethereal glow. "You look like a goddess right now," she marvelled at you. "You look like a goddess all the time," you smirked.

"Do you think these animals remember us from all the other times we've been here?" she ignored your compliment. "Excuse me, Miss Romanoff. You. Are. A. Goddess," you insisted. She rolled her eyes jokingly, "you're the only goddess here, detka."

Sighing, you admired the nature around you. "I bet they remember you, you're so beautiful, it would be impossible for anyone to forget your face," she stated as if it was a well known fact.

"You're cheesy," you yawned. "Only for you, malyshka," she smiled although her comment fell on deaf ears as you were sound asleep. Natasha carried you back to the compound, making sure you had plenty of blankets around you, "night night, angel."
