Being surrounded by avengers was tough, they all had perfect bodies and were in perfect condition. I, on the other hand, do not possess a "perfect" body and I'm not the most healthiest person in the world.
None of the avengers judged me, but the amount of fans that would make fun of me was huge, and people that worked in the compound always gave me funny looks.
One day, I was walking with Tony to the garage so we could go drop some stuff off at the SWORD headquarters. A couple of reception workers began to snicker as I walked past and started pointing at me. I kept my head down and ignored them.
They started shouting at us, calling me fat and asked how someone so ugly and unfit could be an avenger. Tony lost his shit and began to scream at them, and he immediately fired them.
"I'm sorry that they said those things," Tony wrapped an arm around me. I shook my head and muttered, "it's alright, I'm used to it." Tony scowled as he opened the car door for me, "you shouldn't be, you're perfect y/n. If anyone ever says anything to you again, let me know and I'll be there to kick their asses."
I smiled gratefully at Tony, "thanks." We drove to the SWORD headquarters and greeted a few people as we went in. "Ahh hey y/n," Monica smiled at me as her and Darcy came over to hug me. Jimmy walked out and joined in on the hug. Tony chuckled as he watched from afar, talking to someone at the front desk.
I pulled away from the hug, "sorry guys, I gotta go meet with Hayfuck." We all rolled our eyes in unison and burst out laughing, we said our goodbyes and I went over to Tony. "He's this way," Tony grabbed my hand and pulled me down a bunch of hallways.
Tony knocked on the door and we went in and sat down. "Still an avenger, I see? I'm surprised they haven't kicked you off yet, you f-" Hayward started. Tony dropped the files we brought on his desk, causing a loud thud before saying, "finish your sentence, I dare you."
Hayward knew not to mess with Tony Stark, he could get him fired and he wasn't exactly in the mood to lose his job. Tony stood up, and I followed suit as he placed a hand on my back, leading us both out of the room.
I stared down at the floor as we walked, and the car ride home was completely silent. We got out of the car and went to the main room of the compound. I curled up in a ball on the sofa next to Steve and hid myself in my oversized hoodie. I never wore clothes that showed off my figure, too self conscious to do so.
After a while, I began to softly cry, Steve gently played with my hair until I felt myself drift off.
I was awoken by someone shaking my shoulder lightly, "come on doll, wake up. Dinner's ready." I opened my eyes to see Bucky's steely blue eyes looking at me with pity, Tony had probably told everyone what had happened.
