Readers POV
The battle was hard, but worth it in the end. The day had finally come. I looked on at myself in the mirror as the veil was placed on my head. Outside the window, the dresses usually dressed with victims hung white streamers. Chairs lined up to a path of rugs seized from recent victims houses. Nothing was really bought. Trender had finished the dress I had started when the first time came to be wed. Mama was standing behind me as I looked on in the mirror. I didn't wear anything special. No make-up. Only the veil, necklace and one hair clip Papa insisted I wear.
"You look lovely my little moon beam." Mama smiled as she fixed the veil behind my head. "I expected this day when you first were born. You had tiny little hands that grasped onto you father when he held you. I saw him walking you down in a stroller once."
"I still don't believe that this is happening." I softly said.
"You aren't having second thoughts are you?"
"Of course not mama. I just never thought...after everything that anyone would want me. With everything that they saw me do I didn't think that this day would come. I had thoughts of them abandoning me. I was nothing to them but an easy way to get what they wanted from others at that hell hole. Here I needed and wanted, where I was not wanted but needed there. I love my family I had created and felt safe in and was scared of everything to lose them."
"You still think of yourself as broken don't you. I watched you lay awake at night thinking. Your right to be scared. I was when I married your father, but until you actually see him those feelings will remain. When I looked down the aisle at your father and saw the joy and love in his eyes I was no longer nervous or scared. Because I knew that I would be ok. I see the same in your eyes."
"Only because they're papa's eyes."
She giggled to herself. "No that's not the same thing moonbeam. I mean I see the same eyes that looked at me when you look at slender. You are happy and ready for this but your body is trying to change your mind. Don't let it change you mind or your heart in this matter. I know you will be ok here. He loves you and that's what matters. And is he can deal with your father right now I think you will be together for the rest of your immortal lives."
"That's what concerns me Mama. He can be killed whereas I can not. What happens if that is the case and I lose him. I lose the children. My only shot for an heir." My panicked voice told her. The thought had crossed my mind several times. I have seen them get injured and Slender staying and healing the children but what if there was no one to heal him?
"Your case is different my moon beam. You may have more than one child since your not marrying with your own kind. Its not just the woman who goes barren. You father is empty as well as my womb is. That's why we were so upset when we lost you. You were our only chance at a family. And I want you to have one as well. I want grandbabies!" Luna responded as she fixed the veil to my head and placed pearls in my hair.
"Mama. I don't know how soon that will be. I have enough children now as it is" I smiled at her as the door opened to my room. Looking up I saw Chronus walk in.
"Mia Fala Amaris...You look lovely. I have the thought to cancel this and say no to your marriage." He said as his placed a kiss on top my head.
"And break you daughters heart in the process I don't think so." Luna replied handing me my bouquet of roses. They were mine, black, grey, and white wrapped in a grey silk cloth. Chronus lifted the veil over my face and held out his arm.
"If you want to run away now is the time to do it you know. I'm will be more than happy to say that for you" Luna elbowed him in the side as we walked down the steps to the garden. Slender wanted the wedding to be outside. I don't blame him either. It would hide us all and he felt more comfortable in it. As I stepped down the stairs to the garden I looked at the white streamers that hung amongst our other guests. The children were sitting still and there was no fighting to which my heart was leaping for. A wedding was important to the humans as it was to the Apocalyptic Bloods.
No one was playing a song for when Chronus walked me down. At the end of the row was each of the brothers and my beloved standing there. Offender was actually wearing a shirt and not just his trench coat and fedora. I think that would have to be Akuma's doing since I did hear a lot of arguing before hand. Akuma stood in a grey gown behind wear I would be. She gave a smile to Slender surprisingly as if to say, I approve.
Slender was standing there dressed in a fancier suit to which I didn't know he had. His tie was black to match the suit and he seemed a bit more tense. His face on the other hand had a pink touch. Arriving at the front I turned once more to Chronus as he glared at Slender one last time.
"I will kill you if you hurt her you know. " He rasped out. For the first time I noticed that he had a rasp. Well I assume if he was supposed to be young and elderly at the same time that this would be a case in his speaking.
"I would expect nothing less from you father." Slender said as I grasped his hand. He was heading for dangerous water when the word father left his lips. Chronus' hand twitched and a glare came from under his hood. The same violet glare that I have.
"Let's get this over with before I change my mind. I'm on the verge of it. Your lucky you mother is here as well mia fala amaris." Chronus said as he picked up an ancient looking book. He took the place of the priest and I felt the tension begin to lift as the vows started. "Do you, Slender, take my daughter as you wife in immortality until Me do you part?"
"I would have no other." Slender replied to my father, unphased by the weight of the last sentence.
"And do you..." Chronus paused his words. I hadn't told him a name I wished.
"Amni Fei. And I would have no other." I finished for him.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may not kiss the bride."
"Chronus!" Luna cried from the line behind me.
"You heard me." Chronus replied sternly. "I will not watch them so they will not do it."
"Papa...please?"
"Not now fala amaris. When you eat cake. Be happy your married." Chronus said. Slender looked on at my father with a look even I couldn't pinpoint when his muscle contorted. His hands flew from mine before father could blink. He wrapped them around my waist and felt the soft lips hit mine. My bouquet fell from my hand. Around of applause erupted from the children behind us and I felt the rage from Chronus swarm around us and Luna holding him back. When we finally separated a bunch of rice was being pelted at us.
~~~~Epilogue~~~~
The sky was changing to welcome mother up in the sky. The window was open I sat down in a window seat sitting next to a cradle. A grey bundle laying in my arms as the wind blew beside my face. I had my child, and by miracle I broke the one child barrier of my family. Slender walked in with a white bundle in his arms as I smiled up to him. He placed his bundle in the cradle and took the grey one from my arms. A son and a daughter.
"Genesis didn't want to sleep without Athena again." Slender said placing Athena next to her brother. In their sleep them both rolled towards each other and sleep calmly. Athena looked like me, though her eyes when they opened had a blue hint to them instead of violet. She had a white complexion like her father and her had just enough white hair to be put in a little fountain. Genesis on the other hand was the carbon copy of Slender. No face, white as a ghost and even acted like him even as an infant. Both of the children had black tendril and they hugged each other with them.
"Don't blame him. They spend every minute with each other what's not a few hours of sleep to keep them to be apart." I said, standing beside him now, I leaned down to kiss their heads and pulled their blanket around them. They stayed in our bedroom while the nursery was being prepared. "I never thought of two but yet I am glad to have them both. Though I have worries about them"
"Nothing will happen to them like it happened to you. I promise you beloved." Slender said placing a kiss to my head. I knew he was right and I was smiling before going to rest. Slender followed and wrapped his arms around my waist. "Sleep If they wake its my turn to aid them."
"good night" I said before the open arms of darkness held me as I drifted off into it.
