"Do you know how to fly this thing?" Amethyst asked as she stood with Connie, anxiously watching Aurora sync to yhe Eclipse.
"If Chip can do it. So Can I....besides. how hard could it-"
Aurora cut herself off with an alarmed cry of fear, her eyesockets erupting into a stream of green code.
"HOW DOES HE DO THIS SO OFTEN?!" Aurora asked outloud.
In the cargo bay of the shuttel, Garnet was sitting with Chip's head in her lap, just as she used too when he had first booted up.
As she gently stroked his forehead with her thumb. He was beathing rather faintly. A dull blue blush on his cheeks as he overheated.
"The Chip will be okay Garnet. He always is" Peridot said in a matter of fact tone, as if it was obvious.
"This is Different Peridot" Garnet said simply, earning a confused expression from the green gem.
"This time He wasnt hurt physically, he sustained no damage to his chassis"
"His code has been fractured...the very essence if who and what he is...it's like an infection"
"The longer he goes untreated. The worse he will get..." Peridot said in realization, a concerned tone creeping into her voice.
Garnet nodded in confirmation.
Garnet suddenly placed her free hand onto the seat next to her, holding Chip tightly with her free hand.
Peridot manage to let out a confused "Eh?" Before being sent tumbling as the ship engaged its warp drive, albeit very sloppily.
"Sorry! It's my first time flying this thing!" Aurora said apologetically Over the speaker system.
"We should be at Homeworld in roughly ten minutes. Chip's made some upgrades" Aurora stated. Seeming to say the last part to herself.
"Mum?" Chip asked weakly, his voice glitching as he did. Catching Garnet's attention.
"Hey you...how are you feeling?" Garnet asked with a small smile.
"I-Ive certainly been better" Chip said with a look of discomfort crossing his face.
"Where are we going?"
"To Homeworld. They will have what we need to fix you up" Garnet explained softly. Earning a whine of protest from Chip.
"But I just got hooooome" Chip said in defeat, earning a chuckle from Garnet.
