Chapter One: Side effects

'Stretch was standing next to Chip hesitantly aa she stood next to the Metamorin Howitzer bot. Watching Peridot and Chip work on it'

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" 'Stretch asked cautiously as the mechanical beast came online, its legs sputtering momentarily before it stood up. Shaking the ground as it did so'

"Oh we have no doubts this could go wrong" 'Peridot stated in a matter of fact tone'

"It did over three years ago so it definitely could again!" 'Chip said with a amused tone as he sat on top of the war machine. Beginning to interface with it'

"You should know by now tampering with Metamorin technology is nine times out of ten. A bad idea. I mean, I tampered with you and we found out you're a Diamond!" 'Stretch stated in a mixture of amusement and alarm, teasing Chip lightly'

'Chip glared at Stretch momentarily as he turned around, his diamond shaped eyes having taken on a more orangish yellow color'

"I will trample you with this thing" 'Chip said warningly as the Howitzer fully came online'

'The ground shook as the Howitzer slowly turned left, Chip's eyes having begun to glow green, streams of code visibly being read through them'

'Chip briefly lost his balance as the Howitzer stopped turning. Both Peridot and Stretch having begun to back up primitively'

"Are you allright up there?" 'Peridot asked cautiously, a nervous tone being audible in her voice'

'Chip's eyes glitch slightly as the blue glow that the Howitzer's cannons had briefly flickered red. Chip shook his head for a moment as he fell to one knee'

"Y-Yeah! I'm good. My reactor's just.....sputtering a bit here" 'Chip said with a half hearted chuckle before moving to his feet once more, placing his hand back on the war machine's turret'

'The Howitzer rumbled loudly as it's reactor sped up, taking a few steps forwards before stopping, earning a slightly more confident grin from Chip'

'Chip narrowed his eyes ever so slightly before the Panzer leapt forwards, shaking the ground violently as it landed'

"Okay! Maybe we shouldn't go that fast!" 'Chip said as he held tightly onto the Howitzer'

'Chip softly fell to one knee as the Howitzer stood still, placing a hand on his chest as he shook his head'

'Running a diagnostic check Chip's eyes widened slightly'

'The diagram he was being shown through his Hud showed his reactor. The text above read "Warning. R.P.S reaching critical levels" '

'Chip steadied himself as a wave of dizziness came over him, his eyes flickering weakly'

"Okay...that's uh....that's a problem" 'Chip said as his arms sputtered, his left eye flickering out'

'As the Howitzer sputtered and fell to the ground as it lost power, Peridot and Stretch ran over in concern, quickly climbing on top of the war machine'

"SEE? YOU DON'T MESS WITH METAMORIN TECH!" 'Stretch exclaimed as she sat Chip up, earning a pained cringe from him'

'Peridot carefully sat on her knee's next to Chip. Placing a hand on his forehead before hooking up a wire to his neck, earning a jolt from him'

"What the hell?" 'Chip asked in a mildly insulted tone'

"I'm scanning your subroutines. Clearly there is something the matter with you" 'Peridot admitted bluntly as she hooked the wire up to her phone'

"I'm fine Peridot" 'Chip said as he grabbed the wire, only causing Peridot to taze him with her finger'

"When the hell did you learn to do that?!" 'Chip asked as in shock, twitching slightly as he did so'

"Last week" 'Peridot stated in a matter of fact tone, placing the phone down'

'Peridot glared at Chip as she crossed her arms, causing him to shrink slightly'

"What?" 'Chip asked cautiously'

"There is a foriegn substance running a muck through your systems. What did you do" 'Peridot asked as Chip yanked the wire out of his head, causing it to spark briefly'

"I made a calming serum" 'Chip stated bluntly before attempting to stand up, immediately loosing his balance'

'Stretch carefully caught Chip, helping her friend stand as he clearly couldn't on his own'

"You made a faulty serum. Just to escape your primal urges that Aurora has caused in the link you two share?" 'Peridot asked as she used her magnetism to pull her trashcan lid too her'

"Yes. I did, I couldn't get much done when I was having a panic attack" 'Chip said harshly'

'Before he could say anything further Peridot hit Chip on the head with the trashcan lid'

"Arent you supposed to be smart?" 'Stretch asked with a chuckle as Chip rubbed his forehead'

"Yeah! With numbers and equations! Not feelings"
