A Living Machine. Chapter Two ( A Steven Universe Fanfiction)

Chapter One- Reunions

'In little homeworld Peridot and Bismuth were sitting up on one of the larger buildings, they had been doing quite a few repairs lately from a certain quartz soldier that seemed to refuse to use doors'

Bismuth: "I swear one day I'm going to poof her...." 'Bismuth says in a frustrated tone'

Peridot: "Yeah that's what I thought when I was stuck on a ship with her" 'Peridot says as she floats ontop of her trash can lid'

"Stuck on a ship with Jasper.... not exactly a great premise" 'A familiar voice could be heard saying from behind the two, causing them to both turn around, looks of surprise on both of their faces'

Chip: "What? Not like I've had a negative experience with her." 'Chip says as he leans on his walking stick, a light grin on his face'

Peridot: "THE CHIP IS BACK!" 'Peridot exclaims loudly, launching into a hug, causing Chip to stagger slightly'

'Before Chip has time to react Bismuth picks him up into a crushing hug, earning a dull metallic groan from Chip's body'

Bismuth: "Long time no see bud! How ya been?" 'Bismuth says putting Chip down, letting him catch his breath'

Chip: "I've been good. I've been doing a lot of work back on Homeworld to get it into working condition with the new "democracy" that White planned"

Peridot: "How long are you staying for?" 'Peridot asks curiously, earning a smile from Chip'

Chip: "Well I've already done my job. So I am back for the foreseeable future!" 'Chip says earning an excited series of noises from Peridot as she hops from one foot to the other'

Bismuth: "You should go find Aurora! She'll be livid if you dont" 'Bismuth says with a light chuckle, crossing her arms'

Chip: "I....already did. But I'm not talking about that right now as I have MANY concerns revolving her plans right now" 'Chip says with a nervous laugh'

Peridot: "That is likely due to the fact you hardly spoke to her for three years. She has been rather....anxious for your arrival" 'Peridot says looking at her clip board, a sly smirk on her face'

Chip: "Please stop...." 'Chip says with a groan'

Bismuth: "Dont get so worked up about it. Were just teasing ya!" 'Bismuth says placing a hand on Chip's shoulder'

Bismuth: "So I'm just going to assume that big bang earlier was you coming into orbit?" 'Bismuth asks looking off into the distance, noticing the Eclipse, parked near the edge of beach city'

Chip: "Yeah. I've been trying to work on making a jump drive that doesn't y'know. Sound like its exploding the sky. But I've had little luck thus far" 'Chip says with a shrug before turning to Bismuth'

Chip: "So! Where's Steven?" 'Chip asks curiously, placing his hands onto his walking stick'

Peridot: "Oh, Steven moved out last year" 'Peridot says earning a confused look from Chip'

'After a minute or two a look of realization crosses Chip's face'

Chip: "That's right! Blue told me something had happened with him while I was on Homeworld. How has he been doing, if you know that is" 'Chip says with a light cringe'

Bismuth: "He's doing good. Or at least he's doing better than he was before he left. He's got a therapist" 'Bismuth says with a sigh'

Chip: "Yeah I figured he would get one. He's been through a lot" 'Chip says with a sigh, earning a slightly concerned look from Bismuth'

Bismuth: "Speaking of going through things. How have you been doing? You didn't exactly get the easy road either" 'Bismuth says earning a half hearted laugh'

Chip: "Well I guess that's true. I'm...fine. I haven't had any problems recently so I think I've got it under control" 'Chip says with a chuckle'

Bismuth: "Well if you ever need to talk to someone my door is always open. Some of the walls too, quite a few actually" 'Bismuth says with her voice going from positive to slightly annoyed'

Chip: "Alrighty then. You get on that and I. Shall go find Lapis" 'Chip says twirling his walking stick momentarily, forming a portal behind himself before falling into it'

'Upon exiting the other side of his portal Chip dusts himself off, before looking forward, a content smile crossing his face'

'Infront of him Lapis was painting on a canvas, humming a song to herself'

'Activating his thrusters Chip boosts into the air, floating over lapis, landing behind her silently, a light hum coming from him as he examines the painting'

Chip: "I would have gone with a darker blue color" 'Chip says causing Lapis to jump, instinctively using the small bowl of water next to her to push chip backwards, dazing him'

'Upon realizing who she had just thrown across the room Lapis lets out an alarmed gasp, rushing over to Chip'

Lapis: "I am. So. Sorry!" 'Lapis says helping Chip up, earning  a light groan from him'

Chip: "It's good to see you too aunty" 'Chip says with a light cough, his eyes flickering for a moment'

Lapis: "When did you get back? no one's heard anything from you in three years!" 'Lapis says cleaning up the mess she had made'

Chip: "I just got back actually. I've already gone and talked to everyone else, save for Steven but that's kinda out of my grasp right now" 'Chip says with a shrug'

Lapis: "Yeah? how did it go with Aurora?" 'Lapis asks with a cocky grin earning a sigh from Chip'

Lapis: "Yeah that's what I thought. but to be fair you did just up and leave" 

Chip: "that I did. That I did" 'Chip says with a chuckle'
