Chapter One- A Lesson On Metamorins

'Garnet had just recently woken up from her sleep. A habit Ruby and Sapphire had grown over time from when Steven was little'

'As she walked out of the temple and into the Beach house she comes to a stop, a light smile on her face'

'On the couch Aurora had fallen asleep, holding Chip protectively against herself'

'Chip had likley fallen asleep soon after Aurora did, not having the need to break free from her'

'As the two slept a light pink glow was visible on Chip's gem while Aurora's hair would glow pink along with her breathing'

'Garnet let's out a small chuckle, sitting down at the table with Greg, whom had already woken up'

Greg: "They were like that when I got up. I thought about waking them up, but I think they need time together" 'Greg says sipping the cup of coffee he had made for himself'

Garnet: "That's probably for the best. Aurora was pretty out of it when he first left" 'Garnet says with a chuckle'

Greg: "I dont know much about Metamorins like you or Pearl do. But Chip and Aurora act almost exactly like humans" 'Greg says with a chuckle'

Garnet: "That's because Metamorins are nearly identical to humans" 'Garnet responds earning a confused expression from Greg'

Greg: "But aren't they like...all metal and stuff, how does that work?"

Garnet: "Metamorins are much simmilar to humans then just appearance and mannerisms. Their bodies are made of a sort of living metal that grows and reproduces more of itself to fit the growth of the being"

Greg: "So it acts like muscle and bone?" 'Greg asks with a light chuckle, clearly surprised'

Garnet: "Yes. However unlike humans. As long as energy is being supplied to the metal, the body can stay alive, or it could even be brought back to life if the main processors aren't destroyed. Even then they can be repaired or replaced. But what they were. Will be gone."

'Silence falls between the two as Greg sits in confusion before a look of realization crosses his face'

Greg: "If they have similar biology to humans does that me-"

Garnet: "Yes their reproductive cycle is simmilar to a humans" 'Garnet says with a sigh'

'Garnet and Greg are cut off by a light growl from Aurora, having pulled Chip closer to her, her hair flickering a dull red momentarily'

Greg: "I think we might want to be a bit quieter" 'Greg says in a whisper. Earning a chuckle from Garnet'

Garnet: "I agree. I would prefer to not get blasted through a wall" 'Garnet says with a small smile as she looks at Chip and Aurora'

'Garnet and Greg silently make their way outside, sitting down on the set of chairs placed on the deck'

Greg: "Honestly, I'm surprised Aurora waited for him, especially with how twitchy she can pretty testy" 'Greg says with a light chuckle, trying to lighten the mood'

Garnet: "Of course she would"

Greg: "I know, she loves him and all that" 'Greg says in a chuckle, raising his hands'

Garnet: "Yes she does. But that isnt the reason she waited" 'Garnet says earning a confused look from Greg'

Greg: "What do you.. mean exactly?" 'Greg asks in obvious confusion'

Garnet: "Metamorin relationships arent like Human or Gem relationships. Humans and Gems form relationships over time. Metamorins do aswell although it's much faster" 'Garnet explains, folding her hands'

Garnet: "However unlike humans, or even gems for that matter. Metamorins do not and can not love more than once. When they find a partner a link is formed between the two mentally. It stays as long as both of them are alive" 'Garnet explains earning a look of understanding from Greg'
