Chapter One: Are you serious?

"So what did you need my help with?" 'Chip asked curiously as he walked with Amethyst'

"Little homeworld is pretty much filled with only gems. So our power supply is pretty restricted" 'Amethyst informed, earning a nod from Chip'

"Well it's not like gems need much to survive in a healthy state. So long as they have access to sunlight" 'Chip said with a chuckle'

"Yeah but that's the thing. Some gems working on the power plant have been getting....sick" 'Amethyst said in a confused tone'

"What? Like corruption?" 'Chip asked in mild alarm, his eyes seeming to change a purplish blue color'

"Kind of? Like it reminds me of when Jasper first got corrupted. When me and Steven fused?" 'Amethyst explained in just as much confusion as Chip'

"Can you take me to the power source?" 'Chip asked in concern as he picked up his pace'

"It would be fast if we could fly!" 'Amethyst said as she shape shifted into a bird causing Chip to activate his thrusters'

'As Amethyst flew upwards Chip did the same, not being able to go all too fast due to the fact he was following her'

"So what symptoms were the effected gems exhibiting exactly?" 'Chip asked curiously'

"Eh....glitching mostly, anytime their form does glitch they become more and more corrupted" 'Amethyst explained as she started to descend, causing Chip to do the same'

'As they flew Chip's hud beeped loudly, causing him to pivot on the spot, his eyes eventually landing on a large metal dome like structure'

"Amethyst" 'Chip said calmly as she landed on his shoulder, still in bird form'

"Yeah?" 'Amethyst asked in response, quickly finding Chip had picked her up and started shaking her'

"WOULD YOU MIND TELLING ME WHY YOU'RE USING A METAMORIN HYDRON REACTOR AS THE TOWN'S POWER SOURCE?!" 'Chip asked angrilly before letting her go'

"It was just sitting in that ship we found you in! If we didn't do something with it who knows what would've happened!" 'Amethyst said in her own defense, following Chip as he boosted off towards the dome'

"These reactors are made for Metamorins to use! They produce a VARIETY of types of radiation. Many of which are harmful to Gems" 'Chip explained as he landed next to the dome, his hair seeming to float slightly as he got closer to the metal structure'

"Huh, Peridot said the same thing. Thats why we got the dome built around the power plant" 'Amethyst said as she returned to her normal state, her hair also starting to float upwards'

'Chip's eyes went black as he glared at the metal structure, his arm having turned into a plasma cannon'

'Without hesitation Chip blasted his way into the dome, shaking the ground as a neon blue explosion errupted from the bolt of plasma rapidly heating'

"DUDE!" 'Amethyst exclaimed in shock as Chip marched into the reactor room'

"Stay AWAY from the reactor and keep other gems away. I'll be a bit before im done in here" 'Chip said in a frustrated tone of voice, earning a hesitant nod of agreement from Amethyst'
