Chapter 21: Painful Truths

Walking to their podiums, everyone had finally gathered for the next Class Trial.

"So, where should we start?" Yutaka asked from his puppet. "Which one of us could've killed a big muscle man?"

"Personally speaking, I highly suspect it could very well be Aratani." Raidon said.

"Why exactly am I your first go to suspect?" Aratani asked.

"Now. Hold on, is there really any evidence that it was her?" Yumico asked bluntly.

"Well, actually regarding my theory from earlier." Barisuta began. "I don't think it's Aratani, however..Theres 2 things bothering me. Who would have a motive to kill, and who could've snuck into Lily's lab to grab the materials needed?"

"Well I think that's another place we should begin. What we saw in our dreams. If we discuss that and figure out who'd have the biggest potential to kill, then we can go over alibis and see who's stands out most as suspicious." Maeko said.

"Im a..Tad skeptical on this. However, granted that was the motive for this murder. Well, whos gonna begin?" Mitsuko asked.

"Well how about you?" Riku asked in a snide tone. "You're so chill but nervous of humans all the time, so what made you that way?"

Mitsuko went silent before sighing. "My...Childhood dog and best friend was murdered by a gang running dog fights, when I was trying to sneak in and rescue the dogs used for them. Hence why I wear this bracelet on my wrist all the time." Mitsuko proceeded to show the bracelet, that had the name "Maxwell" on it to everyone. Everyone feeling an intense tug at their heartstrings as Kioka spoke.

"I..I had to relive my..My moms drunken beatings.." Kioka said, beginning to shake. "She..She only became that way after Daddy died, and..and she kept blaming me.."

Kentaro spoke begrudgingly. "Umm..My Uhm..My nightmare consisted of..Walking in on my Father after he overdosed on Heroine."

Yumico sighed, wanting to cry herself hearing these but keeping herself composed. "Mine unfortunately was..Almost drowning when I got separated from my parents at sea.."

Barisuta held Yumicos hand as he spoke. "I unfortunately had vague memories of how abusive my father became after my mother fell ill. How he married off to a gold digging whore and..Almost forced me and my mother out of the shop, to live on the streets."

Yutaka didnt speak. He just..moved his puppet around. Until..he said very few yet chilling words..

"H..Her..She..Hurt me..She.."

Yutakas puppet stroked Yutakas face gently, similar to the way a father would comfort their child. "It's ok daddy, I'll protect you from that big meanie who hurt you!"

Maeko spoke. "Mine was..Unfortunately experiencing my mother attempting to run my father over with the family's car in a fit of rage. Along with..My family screaming at me that I was a failure in their eyes, in the field I work."

Akira spoke. "Mine was..Experiencing my mother's death again. Her murder anyways. Junpei and Hiroshi even..Taunting me with their deaths, telling me it's my fault.."

Maeko sighed. "Which leaves 4 people left..Riku, Aratani, Lily..and Ayaka."

Aratanis face went pale. "I...I can't.." she said, almost sounding like she was about to choke on her tears.
