The group themselves stared at the screen in pure silence. Shock taking over them all, as Monodev clapped. "Wowie! It seems you've all made it! You've won! 7 survivors! Or...Is it 7?"
"What do you mean?!" Riku shouted. "Don't fucking tell me that-"
"The masterminds one of you!" Monodev shouted. "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Though, sitting around here like a bunch of silent idiots won't give you the answers you so desire! So, that being said! Guards! Open the final floor, while I take my personal slumber!"
Before the group knew it, Monodev had...shut off completely.
"Uhh...Am I the only one a little unsettled by that?" Kentaro asked.
"Monodev shutting off like that?" Mitsuko asked. "That is a bit concerning. Plus if the Mastermind IS one of us. How the hell could all of this conveniently happened like this?"
"I guess were only gonna find out by reaching the last floor." Yumico said. The guards approaching everyone, and leading them to the very top of the facility in an orderly fashion.
Step by step, Akira became more nervous. "What if it is true that I'm the Mastermind after all?! Given everything that happened?! That...Were one in the same message to me?! Keep my mouth shut?!" Akiras thoughts only accelerated.
As they reached the final floor. The only sight in front of them was a ladder. Was this the exit?!
Akira desperately climbed up, barely listening to the sounds of his friends screams to slow down. His desperation to feel fresh air again, to see the mountains and the beauty of the outside world..
But as soon as he got to the very top, what was waiting for him only confirmed his worst fears.
Getting himself out, he noticed he was in some sort of basement of sorts. A vacant basement all day for a few inventions scattered about. Something an Engineer would've made. This basement smelled horrible, and almost like...complete death. Looking over in the corner, he witnessed a horrific sight.
The mutilated corpses of his friends who've since bit the dust. Maeko and Raidon not yet there yet. He could only feel nothing but sickness, as he stood and ran for the stairs. As he did however...a voice was heard right behind him.
"Why hello brother. It's high time I get to finally see you face to face. Just like I've always dreamt of, my entire puny life."
Akiras blood ran cold, as he turned around and saw a glowing green eye within the darkness. As the figure stepped forward, what he saw before him...Only baffled and made him question everything. Standing before Akira..
Was himself. An exact copy of himself, except one of the eyes being a glowing green.
"M-ME?!" Akira shouted. "What the hell is this?!"
"Oh?" The copycat asked. "What? Are you embarrassed to finally have your worst fears confirmed, brother?"
The copycats voice suddenly changing to Junpeis voice. "Cmon Akira, you know deep down it's been you all this time."
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Akira shouted. "Theres no way in hell youre me! IM NOT THE MASTERMIND!"
"Oh?" The copycat spoke in Junpeis voice. "Why do you deny that, brother? After all, I lied to you for so long! How awful, isn't it? I'm not even close to capable of my Ultimate!" The copycat then reverted back to Akiras voice. "You realize it don't you? Junpei knew about all of this, and lied to you for all these years. Pfft, so much for Ultimate Guardian."
As the others made their way to the top, all Akira could hear was loud screams and questions galore of what this all consisted of. If this was truly another trap, or indeed...The exit.
