The Greenhouse. The very room Akira found Lily in, broken down and feeling defeated. The first time he helped someone in this corrupted game of those that still remained amongst him. A heavy sinking feeling in his heart, as Monoboy looked up in confusion.
"Why sad, Akira?" Monoboy asked in a sad tone.
"I...Being back here, I'll be honest. The first time we found this room, and how happy Lily was to find it. Still...slightly condescending and yet now. She's changed so much." Akira said.
"I wonder how she's doing currently in there. Maybe we can talk to her about her future goals! I wonder where she wishes to go in life!" Monoboy asked excitably.
"I think what she'd want mostly is a friend." Akira spoke, as he walked in seeing Lily sitting in the center of the Greenhouse facing forward. The same way she had when remembering something horrific of her past.
"I swear, no matter how many times I walk into one of these...Even if I have one of the most traumatizing memories of my life in these, I have so many good memories that overpower that bad experience. Even then...Nothing can change how much I miss you...How I never got to say goodbye.." Lily said, with a slight sob tone to her voice. "I miss you Grandma.."
"Lily was close to her Grandmother?" Monoboy asked curiously.
"Yes." Akira whispered.
"AHH! You fucking asshole, how long were you standing there?!" Lily shouted, as Akira realized she noticed him.
"AHHH! Oh god, I'm sorry I just-"
"Cmon, I'm messing with you dude." Lily snarked. "Sneak up on me again like this ever again though, and I can't promise I won't throw something at you."
"....You weren't planning on throwing something at me, were you?" Akira asked with a nervous tone.
"Like I said. I can't promise next time I won't." Lily said with a resting bitch face. "Anyways!"
Lily stood up and walked over to Akira. "So much for our little plan to break into the Masterminds Room, huh? Especially given...You were the-"
"Lily." Akira bluntly said.
"I was teasing! Though, I'm still a bit confused about the whole thing." Lily said with a disappointed tone. "Then again, look what sitting outside always has done for me. Completely made me not smart to anything technology related."
"Why hello hello Lily!" Monoboy popped out with a wave, as Lily screamed. "JESUS CHRIST ITS STILL ALIVE!"
"Monoboy!" Akira sternly said.
"I-I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to frighten you, but-I wanted to tell you I'm very sorry if I ever brought you any despair when I was in that form! I know it's a lot to take in, but I'll be very happy to explain best I can!" Monoboy said in a panic, as Lily backed down.
"Well...Alright. I'll let you say what you gotta say. I know I honestly gotta stop jumping on impulse and assuming shit so fast, so...maybe this can be a start. Fire away, Mono...Child? Fuck it, I'm calling you that." Lily said.
As Monoboy proceeded to explain, Akira took a moment to take a deep breath and process it all himself. The experimentation on him as a child is what led to Copycat being created...And now with Monoboy...He was Akiras childhood friend before he gained fame they personally made him forget that was also reprogrammed. It all began to make more sense for Akira, yet that..lingering feeling.
Is it true he was Reprogrammed into being good again? Was he uploaded with an all new AI or is this some ruse? Does he genuinely seek redemption?
"Ok I think I'm starting to piece it all together." Lily grunted. "Though Jesus Christ, at least it's not you were in despair so much, you fucked a corpse of a girl obsessed with despair."
