The sun rose over the Mesozoic plains. The pterosaurs awoke and screeched on the mountainside cliffs, the sauropods ate from the treetops and various hadrosaurs and ceratopsians graze on the plains. It's here where we see aladar and his lemur family trotting through the valley

Aladar knew where he was going. It was an instinctual feeling. He knew the only way to help save all dinosaurs from certain doom was to find the dinosaur king. And his instincts told him to head north to the outlands. Where food is scarce and predators are unpredictable.
Aladar knew the risks but he had to go. He had to leave his herd and his brother Cain behind him and look to a better future. He had to go in this mission. To save all dinosaur kind from destruction. he could feel it as the asteroid was coming. it was a long long ways away at the edge of the galaxy so there wasn't anything yet to worry about
The key word is yet
Aladar knew the asteroid would come soon. And when it did. All hell would break loose
He saw it in his nightmares. The asteroid as it collided in the Gulf of Mexico. Consuming all In its path. A claustrophobic cloud sweeping for miles as it consumes everything in its path. Large chunks of the asteroid riding and falling everywhere crashing down everywhere. Forest fires spreading for miles. The impact causing tidal waves big enough to consume entire shorelines
Aladar had to find the dinosaur king. He had to save all dinosaur kind

Eventually aladar had made it to the outlands. His mother plio, his sister suri, his cousin zini and his grandfather yar clinging to his back as they follow the iguanodons instinct. Eventually they make it into raptor territory. Where a pack of desert raptors Watch their every move
Suddenly out of the sky they see a bright light as it sweeps over their heads and to the horizon
Aladar: did you see that?
Yar: what?
Zini: I did
Suri: me too
Aladar follows the trial and makes it to a steep hill as he looks to see the bright object land
Plio: what is that thing?
Aladar: I don't know. Let's find out
Yar: leave it alone!
Aladar proceeds to climb down and head toward the large object
Yard: hey!
Plio: shh! Dad
Yar: I-it's scaring suri
Suri: no it's not
Aladar; everyone just be quiet
They head ever closer to the strange contraption with the raptors following making sure to keep their distance. Sure they were carnivores but they knew better than to break the sacred law of hunting and killing other dinosaurs. There were plenty of reptiles like snakes and lizards and a few scorpions to appease their appetite. Sure it wasn't as good as caimans or gators but it was better than nothing
