DxH Chapter 15

With a grimace, I slowly backed away from Heinukel Vetel. My heart raced when I attacked him, only to be met with a counterattack. A mischievous glimmer danced in his eyes as I swung my two-bladed sword, attempting to strike him. His amusement was evident as he effortlessly dodged each of my fervent attacks.

I mustered up the courage to kick him from behind, hoping to catch him off guard. However, to my surprise, he swiftly reacted, seeing my leg with lightning speed before he effortlessly threw me away with a powerful grip, leaving me in amazed of his incredible reflexes. He devilish smirk, knowing his attack made my  knees weak. I gently wiped my chin, ensuring no one else noticed my mishap.

As I looked down at my arms and legs, I couldn’t help but wince at the sight of the countless scratches that covered my skin. I sprinted forward as my heart pounded in my chest. I jumped into the air, soaring higher and higher before I aimed my foot toward his head in that split second, ready to kick him powerfully. As I prepared to strike, I deliberately twisted my body, hoping to amplify the force behind my attack. However, to my surprise, my opponent swiftly raised and crossed his arm, forming a protective barrier in front of his face. It was as if he had anticipated my move, taking me aback by his quick reflexes and strategic thinking.

I couldn’t help but notice the mischievous smirk playing on his lips. Instantly, a surge of caution washed over me, reminding me of the previous encounter when he had flipped me off. Reacting swiftly, I executed a nimble backflip, hoping to avoid my expected scenario. I immediately land upside down from my right hand because I’m holding my sword in my other hand. I twisted my body smoothly before I stood up while he was still standing confidently, with his blue uniform of Heinukel fitting him perfectly.

Tinignan ko ang kamay kong nanginginig na dahil sa pagod. Bakas sa mga palad ko ang mga gasgas at pamumula nito. Mahigpit kong hinawakan ang aking sandata bago huminga ng malalim. Mahigit tatlumpung minuto na ata ang nakalipas pero hindi ko man lang siya nabigyan ng sugat o nahawakan man lang.

“Saksakin mo Meil!” Princess Gail cheered.

Napahinga ako ng malalim. Tagaktak na ang pawis ko sa nuo at ramdam ko ang panginginig ng aking tuhod. Kinagat ko ang aking dila bago pinadaan sa labi ko. Muli akong napatingin kay Heinukel Moreen na nakasimangot habang pinapanood ako. She’s shaking her head and look disappointed.

“Your stamina is weak. How did you manage na hawakan ang Pollo at ilabas ang kapangyarihan nito kung sa simpleng combat ay hindi ka nakakatagal?” Naalarma ako sa kaniyang paghakbang. Bakas sa tono ng kaniyang boses ang kuryusidad. He cares his lower chin downward using his palm while staring.

“Nakakaawa ang mga taong tulad mo,” walang pag-aalinlangan niyang wika.

Nagpantig ang tenga ko dahil sa sinabi niya. Tumingin ako sa paligid at sa mga Bermuda grass na tinatapakan ko. Dinama ko ang malamig na simoy ng hangin dahil kailangan kong pakalmahin ang nagbabadyang inis na gustong kumawala sa aking sistema. Tirik na tirik ang araw pero mabuti na lang sumasang-ayon ang temperatura ng hangin dahil naiibsan ang pagkairita ko.

“Pwede ba seryosohin mo ko,” utos ko sa kaniya. Pinilit ko pa rin magsalita kahit na nauuhaw ako. Alam ko kasing pinaglalaruan niya ako mula pa kanina.

My eyes glitched when he chuckled and brushed his hair using his fingers. “I didn’t do anything, but you’re already struggling to catch your breath,” he mocked.

Wala akong naisagot dahil sa nararamdaman kong inis. Hindi ako pwedeng sumuko dahil kailangan kong patunayan ang sarili ko. Saglit akong natigilan dahil sa binulong ng isip ko. I looked at Princess Gail because she kept cheering me on. I never thought of proving myself to someone, but now it seems like something urges inside me not to disappoint Princess Gail.
