DxH Chapter 17

Tanging ang paghinga at tibok ng puso ang maririnig nina Meil at ang kaniyang mga kasama. It was as if time had stopped for them as they saw the two princesses kneeling with dark smoke surrounding their bodies. Sa tabi nila ay nakatayo si Hemman habang binabantayan niya sina Prinsesa Vax at Prinsesa Jcer. Bakas sa tindig ni Hemman ang nakakatakot na presensya dahil sa laki ng kaniyang katawan maging ang mga peklat na makikita sa kaniyang kutis.

Princess Jcer was still in the depths of sleep, while Princess Vax had just regained consciousness. She struggled to escape, but when she realized her situation, she fell weak as the smoke, like a rope around her body, tightened. Pinakawalan ni Verom si Heinukel Hanuis mula sa kaniyang kapangyarihan. Ramdam ni Heinukel Hanuis ang pag-aalala ni Heinukel Moreen nang makalapit siya sa pwesto nila. The guards of Torogan Palace were all unconscious because of the smoke emitted by Verom, who stood beside Hemman. She playfully covered her mouth with her right hand, delighted at Princess Vax’s situation.

“What should we do?” Heinukel Moreen asked.

“Ako na bahala sa big boy na nakatingin sa’kin kanina pa,” mayabang na wika ni Heinukel Aewe.

“Don’t let your guard down dahil mataas ang kanilang Scregar.” Napatingin si Heinukel Moreen kay Heinukel Hanuis. “And that’s woman. Mag-ingat kayo sa kaniya. Her smoke has poison,” dagdag na wika ni Heinukel Hanuis.

Lahat sila ay napatingin kay Verom dahil sa usok na nagmumula sa kaniyang palad. The sky had turned overcast, and only the lights from the lamp posts swallowed the surroundings of the courtyard. Meil looked around in confusion as she heard the gasp of Heinukel when Guerol showed up in the middle of four intruders from a distance. Guerol was wearing a black-and-a-half mask that covered his features. He wore a brown kimono, its T-shaped silhouette and straight-cut lines giving him an imposing look. The kimono’s wide, flowing sleeves resembled graceful wings, adding an aura of elegance to his presence.

“Well, well. My favorites friends! We just... Want to say hello to our—” tumingin si Guerol sa dalawang Prinsesa na nakaluhod. “To our beautiful Queen. Agh! Of course my bad. Nandito lang ako to fetch her—”

“Shut the fuck up, Guerol!”

Guerol appeared amused and unfazed. He didn’t mind the blazing expression on Prince Ocuser’s face as he stared at him. Guerol, with his calm demeanor and sly smile, seemed to enjoy the look of Prince Ocuser. He chuckled before he casually folded his arm across his chest. His nonchalant attitude only seemed to fuel Prince Ocuser’s frustration.

“How sweet.”

“Enough of your games, Guerol,” Prince Ocuser spat, his voice dripping with anger. “You’ve pushed your luck too far this time.”

Guerol chuckled softly, his eyes glinting with mischief. “Oh, dear Prince, is that so? We came here for peace and to see our Queen Vax. You know she’s our way to get Sultan Macter to surrender because he killed the son of Emperor Damascke and stole the Pollo.”

“Your still arrogance walang pinagbago,” Prince Ocuser retorted, his voice quivering with restrained fury. “Spilling nonsense with manipulation.”

Their faces were full of hatred for each other, with the air crackling with tension. “Manipulation is such a harsh word, my dear Prince. I prefer to think of it as... factual.”

“You may have your games, but I won’t let you win.” The Prince said through gritted teeth. “And mark my words, Guerol. Your actions won’t go long forever.”

Guerol’s smile widened, revealing a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. “Ah, but isn’t that what makes life interesting? A game of surprises?”
