"Can a volunteer help Lola around for her next classes and lunch? You know, to get used to the school." Mr Schimer asked around the class after the lesson has ended. So far some were shy, a lot picked their hands up but I was feeling difficult and nervous because I don't know anyone here. I simply hid my face under the table. I almost felt myself being on the verge of tears.

"I'll show her around." Taro the short boy in front of me volunteered. He held his hand up too

Another student a mischievous, a girl in the middle of the class with blond hair and pink top and blue jeans with a smirk says, "Oh really, hope you don't make her feel miserable like yourself."

"Oh be quiet Molly." Taro mutters under his breath, "You think you own the place."

Molly ignores him and dashed over to me grabbing my hand before I could protest, "Don't hang out with this loser." Oh this girl reminds me of Millie Talley back home the girl who had a crush on Ace, "hang out with me."

"Um, I don't know." I say shyly as I glance back at the window to find Chico glaring at this girl, "I like sitting here next to the window, it's fun."

"You, think staring at the window is fun." Molly challenges, "Look outside its windy, all you see are cars and trees."

I grin at her, "But I enjoy the view from here." with that I pull my hand and walk out of the class, winking at Chico who squawked. I looked back at Molly who stood there gawking and glaring at us.

As I left the class, I felt Taro who walked up in front of me.

"That was brave." He said looking at me, " No one has ever stood upto her before."

I gave him a smile, "Its actually the first time I ever stood up to someone like that."

He asked, "Really, has anybody ever treated you like that before in your old school?"

I whispered, "I actually did home-schooling but on my last day at Los Angeles but someone stood up to her."

"Homeschooling?" He muttered in his Japanese accent, "Let's go to the next class, anyway we all have the same scheduled in each grade in middle school like maths, science, Spanish and even cooking."

I looked at my schedule next it's English and then it's Spanish.

I moan, "I don't even know Spanish, I actually never studied any other languages before."

Taro shrugged, "That is a big problem but don't worry about it, I don't either except for Japanese, my mother tongue and English."

After the two lessons, the Spanish language teacher says I should get tutored for this personally. I mean, she was disappointed about me not knowing it at all.

"I didn't know learning languages could be difficult." I complain, "It feels like talking to aliens."

"Shh, don't say that out loud." Taro hissed, "It's not bad learning languages, come on when I came to America at ten, learning English language was difficult and I was scared at first but now it's easy and you know I feel more close to this country."

I turned to face him, "You're from a different country?"

He smiled shyly, "I'm from Japan."

"Oh, I'm hungry." I still realised I had my bag and coat with me, "and I don't even know where to find those lockers."

"Do you have your locker number card?" He asked and I handed it it to him, he looked at it, "Just follow me."

I followed him to my locker where I stuffed my school bag and hanged my coat. I opened it and took out my sandwich and couple of Chico's food.

"I need to go outside for something, I'll see you later Ok." I tell him.

He shook his head, "but it's cold out there."

"I'll wear my coat and I'm used to walking in winters especially to parks." I say grinning, "I love going outdoors."

"Alright, if you say so." He mutters, "but you better come to the launch hall, I think I'm starting to know you and you're the first."

I walk outside of the school building. I saw Chico flying towards me, I noticed some other students eyeing us but I just shrugged and gave Chico his good which he ate greedily and quickly.

I left Chico again and dashed back inside the school where I can see bunch of students going to the cafeteria so I followed.

As I followed there were displays catching my eyes, on the walls, you see pictures of famous students from centuries, some as famous, some popular and some as school heroes.

One pictures catches my eyes and I felt my heart drop when I saw her.

It was a picture of a young girl, she had brown hair and light blue eyes like mine. At the bottom of the frame had her name printed with her date of birth which I never expected before.

I looked closer to the picture, she was beautiful. She looks like Mom, she looks exactly like her, but younger version of her. It was her eyes that got me the most, I stare at them as if they were smiling and shining. It was remarkable.

I whispered, "I didn't know you were famous." I closed my eyes pushing back tears, don't want anyone to notice me crying. Not on the first day. Seeing her young beautiful face would mean she's been here just like I am now.

"She was one of the best students we ever had in history." A female voice startled me, another teacher who stood beside me, "why are you not having your lunch yet?"

"Oh sorry, this picture just caught my attention." I tell her softly, "She's beautiful."

There was a banging noise coming from the cafeteria, "What was that?"

"I don't know, some students are misbehaving again." She says as we both dash to get entrence where I can see students having food fight, they were throwing their food at each other, "Oh my."

Food is for eating and not for throwing. I actually decided to have my lunch outside at least I get to hang out with Chico again. Outside I sat on a school bench near a soccer field from the high school side.

I saw Chico joining me by sitting on the head of the bench close to me. I ate my sandwich as I watched the high school boys playing their game.

"It's been a long time since the last time I watched a school soccer match like this one." I comment to myself, " I usually watch James play this game on his tournaments or matches with other school, I'd go for him."

I devoured my sandwich as I tried to remember the last time time I watched his match. It was last year before the summer. His tournament and his school won the finals and I was proud as if he stood like a hero.

"He was one of the top soccer player in his school." I say, "it'd be cool."

The school bell has rang, I went back inside, throwing the litter in the trash can nearby and leaving Chico back outside where I can see him flying around.

I met Taro back inside to find him looking disappointed, " I thought I told you to have lunch with me at the lunch hall. "

"Sorry I kind got distracted on my way until I heard a noise from the cafeteria and I actually are outside instead." I gave this little kid one of my sly smile" I didn't want to get involved. "

"That was just food fight." He mumbles, "it happens all the time."

We reached the next class for our next lesson and took our seats getting ready for the teacher to teach us stuff.
