The good happy bird and I made it to park where I was only greeted with snow and a few bunch of guys playing snowball fights. I decided to play on the swing for a little while because I needed the wind to play with my hair a little. As I sat on I nearly felt shivers down the spine as the swing was zero degrees cold, so I changed my mind, forget growswinging.
"Let's just go." I say as we entered the white plains full-grown of trees, I see no animals besides some small birds singing as well as enjoying themselves, well it is still winter and they hibernate at this time if the year. As I went along these woods I felt something from the bottom of my heart.
One of the familiar tree caught my eyes for a sudden time, it was tall, grown and healthy, this tree was special because it had a strip of material wrapped on one of the branches. The cloth looked dull and old as if it had been there its whole life since the tree grew from a tiny sapling.
This tree still had leaves because it is a willow tree but from this tree I could feel my heart pound from all these years. This tree belongs to Joey because this is his grave where he rests and sometimes I used to come here when I was little because since he died I come here because of sadness and sometimes I used to pretend the tree was the friend talking to me. Now all these years it has grown from a little sapling to a big grown tree, it was beautiful as always. I stare at the tree mesmerized by its beauty, with the sun still shining, the green leaves looks brighter like crystal shards.
Chico and I made our way inside, if you look up, you could see a ceiling made of tiny leaves, I wrapped my arms around the bark into a hug and Chico didn't laugh because I felt at peace this time. Hugging this tree as I hear my heart pounding but at the same time I closed my eyes as I felt energy seeping into me. I didn't know hugging trees can make you calm on the inside.
"Hey Joey." I say quietly, "It's me Lola, remember me that little human you used to play with."
One of the leaves have landed on my hair and I laughed lightly, "I hadn't forgotten about you at all and guess what I have a new friend who is with me right now but that doesn't mean I have replaced you because I still love you." A single tear filled my eye as it made its way down hitting the ground, "I miss you so much, you know that right? I really miss you."
I hugged and stayed there for couple of minutes even Chico landed on my shoulder without making much sound. I cried as the tree I'm hugging seems to make me feel better.
"You'll always be in my heart no matter what they say." Great now I'm starting to sing that Tarzan song quietly because when I was little at the orphanage I used to watch Tarzan at least ten times and now it had come.
I felt shivers as a drip of water hit my face, the dark grey clouds have covered the sky telling me it's starting to rain. It also hits snow as they began to melt from to ice to liquid water
I pull my arms away from the tree giving it a little kiss on the bark, "I'll see you again when I return Joey and I love you."
I stepped out of the woods where I caught the sight of the swings and the slide with Chico flying beside me he didn't seem to mind the rain because his feathers keep him warm. I stopped short as my eyes drew back to the tree. Sadly we left the park as we go.
"Let's go back before Donny gets mad like a wasp again. " I laughed a little. We reached home and I found Sarah standing there waiting for me.
"Why don't we go shopping again today before you move to New Englang?" She asks
I felt my mouth twitching, "Thats a great Idea." I left Chico upstairs with his food bowl and I gave him another cracker for him after his seed mix. Before I left the house I grabbed two cookies and took it with me to Sarah's car.
