I nearly bumped my head to the ceiling when I woke up from my sleep but it didn't hurt that bad at all. Today is Christmas eve, the day we will be opening Christmas presents today. I wonder if I'll get any gifts and that's the exciting part.

I got up from my bed but wait, I'm sleeping on the window seat, I pick up the book from the floor to place it back on the book shelf. Today I decided to wear a black top, warm green trousers and a red jumper after I had a fresh shower.

I stepped out of the bathroom with my clothes on. Chico was awake and I guess June is already downstairs with her mother and cousins.

"Morning Chico!" I say to him. I grabbed his bowl and feed him his favourite seed mix which he ate. I also grabbed two crackers for him as a treat since today is Christmas.

"Merry Christmas pal! I say to him with a bright smile on my face.

He repeats, " Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas. "

Before I leave the room my eyes glances at the two picture frames on my desk. One of my family and the other of James Parker.

I was sleeping in my bedroom when Joey was squawking louder and louder waking me up from my sleep, the temperature was hot and rising.

"Come on Lola we have to get out of here." Joey squawks louder gripping me by the pajamas as he dragged me along with his claws.

"Why what's happening and why is it so hot?" I screamed.

Joey squawks louder, "FIRE!"

I screamed, when my Daddy ran into my room picking me and Joey up in his arms.

"Lola come onit's going to be alright!" He says to me softly to calm me down but when we reached the bottom of the stairs, I was coughing and Joey had been squawking really loudly in panic.

"Where's mommy?" I ask Daddy, tears already running down my cheeks as I gripped his shirt tighter and kept hugging Joey the little grey parrot closer to my body.

Suddenly, Daddy fell down the stairs gripping his arms around me loosenedHe let me go but the roaring flames was spreading really higher until Joey flew out of my arms.

"Come follow me Lola and you'll be safe." Joey squawks.

I ran after Joey but I glance behind me to fine Daddy was still lying on the ground covered in fire eating his body still until it turned to ashes I was in horror as more tears escaped my eyelids.
