When I woke up, I noticed someone shaking me roughly that my heart nearly flipped over with the overcome with fright as if a monster might get me. I jolt right up as I almost banged my head onto someone's head. I flinched away from the pain.
"Sorry, sorry, I'm so sorry." I yelled with my voice raised until his hand gently over my shoulder.
"It's OK, it's probably my fault." I looked up and recognized that voice belonging to Ace Reynolds smiling warmly, " I didn't mean to scare you, how silly of me." I calmed down as he said it, we both laughed at our clumsiness
"Oh, No problem." I commented, "Gosh on my first day and I nearly messed it up."
"Hey it's Ok, come on, it's time for dinner." He ordered me , " I know you're still new here so take your time with us."
I nervously nodded at my new companion and turned to look at Chico, "I'll come back later for you OK, got to fill my tummy with food."
Ace chuckled, advised, "Why don't you bring him along? He'll be lonely on his own without owner's attention, Mom and Dad won't mind pets around."
I was surprised, "Really, you have pets around too? Oh cool, I can't wait to see it."
He nodded with a grin on his face, I guessed instead, "Is it a snake? If there is one, I'll be dead."
He grins wider, "Nope try again."
"A cat?"
"Nope."
"A dog?"
"Nope still haven't got it right." He whistles, " I'll give you a clue, it is small."
I thought for a moment, "A hamster."
He yelled from his lungs, "That's correct!" soon he starts skipping around me like a happy little kid, then he turned to me with gleaming eyes, " I think I already like my new sister."
I laughed with a little flush on my cheeks, "Trying to play guess with me huh?"
He nods as he stops dancing.
I look at Chico who is still sitting on the bed board. He flew to land on my shoulder. Then I grabbed his food bowl to pour some seeds in and then we left the room. When I reached the kitchen I could smell something delicious almost making my tummy rumble. Entering it for the first time, I was even more astonished. A black and white tiles stuck on the walls with nice looking furnishings. A dinner table was placed in the center of the table and everything such as the sink, oven, cooker and other kitchen stuff around. The rest of the Reynolds family were already dined in waiting for us to eat evening dinner. On table they had a special dish especially for my arrival. I looked at everyone with smiles in their faces and non of them eaten yet. I guess it shows they didn't want to eat without me.
"Good evening, Lola." Sarah and Mikey greeted at the same time, smiling at me with love in their eyes.
"Good evening." I gave them both a warm shy smile. Donny still looks at me with a grumpy expression making me gulp until he turns his head to the side avoiding my gaze. It was hard being in a room with people like him.
I took my seat next to Sarah while Ace sat between me and Donny, still happy to have me around. On the center of the table, there was cooked roast salmon with some white creamy sauce, homemade potato wedges and some white dip for the potatoes. Making my mouth water. It looks like I could eat this a whole day, dreaming away like there's no tomorrow.
Ace leaned, whispered into my ear, "Dig in, it's only food my mom made, so enjoy."
I gave him a shy nod and smiled until he pulled back. It's not everyday you can't stop looking at food, I am hungry as I took a slice of the salmon with wedges and a spoon of dip onto my plate, filling my drink glass with apple juice. I love apple juice.
