It was time for us to go home. I left my class, heading to my locker to collect my coat and items. Taro waited for me outside patiently.

"I'll see you at school tommarow." He says.

"Ok, see you too Taro." I wave at him as I watched him go to his home. Chico came back sitting on my shoulder.

"Let's go home Chico." I complain, "I didn't realise school would take that long, you must have been board all day without me."

Chico squawked in agreement. Out of the school entrence I tried to find which direction would lead me to Uncle Alex's house.

"I think we're lost." I cried and stood out of the school gate longer, "Why did my uncle have to take a long job?"

I went back inside the school gate and sat on the bench near the soccer field where the high school boys play. I sat here for another hour with Chico on my shoulder watching the match.

I think I saw one of the boys waving at me randomly as if we have known each other. I stood back up and stood back outside of the school gate.

"Hey Lola, wait for us." Says the voice of the twins Cara and Chelsey, "Are you lost?"

I gave them a nod, "I don't know the way back home, it's my first day here."

The twins laughed cruelly, "She doesn't even know the way back home, unless she doesn't have one."

The other twin said, "Let's just go, she could cause distractions."

I blinked back tears as I walked away from them. Those two bullies, since they came to Uncle Alex's house all they did was smirk at me just because I'm an orphan.

Chico ignored them and followed me saying, "Don't listen to them, they just don't get humans like you."

"Let's just go." As we walked randomly, we become lost. Not knowing which way going back home was.

"Chico, could you fly higher and see if you could find the way to Uncle Alex's house like we did when we got lost in that woods." I tell him, and he flew higher and higher in the sky where I could see him trying to recognise the house.

When he came back landing on my shoulder. He squawked and flew gesturing me to follow. So I did until I reached the familiar street in New England that leads to Uncle Alex's house.

When we reached the house, I unlocked the door with the key. I was greeted by the sight Blinky running towards me jumping in my arms.

"Hey boy, miss me?" He rubbed his head on my tummy with his purr sound, "Are you hungry?"

I set him down, Chico and I followed him to the kitchen where I filled Blinky's bowl with his cat food and filled Chico's bowl with seed mix on the table.

I took a seat on the table and ate an apple.

"I never thought kids at school could be though sometimes." I say.

After I ate the apple, Chico and Blinky have finished eating their own food I cleaned their bowls and put them away.

I have some homework so I took my bag up to my room with Chico and Blinky following behind.

I sat on the desk and started doing my maths homework which was quite easy because I managed to learn Mr Schimer's method well.

I decided to play with Chico and Blinky while Uncle Alex is still at work.

I lay my back on the bed with my shoes on. Blinky jumped on the bed curling beside me while Chico sat on the bed board.

"Hey, are you guys board?" Blinky looked at me while Chico squawked, "Let's sing Incy Wincy Spider,

Incy Wincy Spider climbing up the water spout,

Down came the rain and washed the spider out

Out came the sun and dried the spider out,

Incy Wincy Spider climbing up the water spout again"

"Lola, I'm home." It was Uncle Alex, he must have come home.

I rushed downstairs to meet my uncle, "Hi Uncle."

"Lola, you actually made it home." He smiles happily.

I asked, "Did you know Mom was famous in school?"

He gave me a nod, "She used to be the school's previous queen."

"Really?" He nodded.

"Yeah she was beautiful just as you are, lots of guys your age used to fall for her because she was the school's popular student."

I smiled with sparkles in my eyes and wonder.

He took me to the living room and we both sat on the couch.

"So, how was your first day at school?" He asks curiously.

"It was OK, and I made a friend." I answered.

"Thats good." He says, "Have you got any homework, you need to be doing?"

" I just finished it."

In the first few weeks of school, I have attended all of my classes with Taro, sometimes I have lunch at the cafeteria with Taro and sometimes I have lunch outside with Chico on the same bench near the soccer field. The relationship with my uncle has also improved but there were still sometime when I'm at home he works longer at John's Mechanic so I actually play with Blinky and Chico. The two animals lately have become friends even though they quarrel but they still got along.

It was the weekend in the month of February, I woke up from a dreamless sleep. For the first time in New England I felt like home with my uncle as if I belong here as well as I felt at home back in Los Angeles.

I decided to go and explore the forest which was close to the beach and from the window but it was bigger then the woods I usually go to back in Los Angeles, near the park where I visited that willow tree which Joey buried under. This time I want to explore it, I won't go too far I just want to climb the trees and feel the wind on my face.
