It has been days since a brotherly friend of mine has died that day and I caught a fever so now I have felt better as good as new. Now it's the weekend so I could spend Saturday going for a five minute jog at the park which is close to the Reynold's house. I gave Chico a bath, fed him his seeds and a cracker as a treat for staying by my side. That's what some parrots like to do. We're kind of like the pirates when we stick together.
"Hey Chico, why don't we go to the woods for a Jog?" He squawks, "I'll be fun with you this time. "
"Well, after breakfast." He squawks in agreement in which I smile at him.
I left the room and headed down to the kitchen and I smell something familiarly delicious as the scent enters my nose. Smells like pancakes. My mouth waters in a dream. When I reached downstairs I find Sarah and Mikey already sat around the table drinking tea but Mikey was busy reading his daily paper. Like always, newspapers must be his thing and he enjoys reading about what's going on in the US and other places.
"Morning you two." I greeted them as their eyes caught my blue ones.
"Morning Lola," they responded at the same time in which the three of us laugh.
Mikey pauses from reading and then asks," Are you feeling any better? "
I reply, "Yeah, I feel as good as new."
I punch my fist in the air as I feel excited to go for a jog for the first time from this house. So I took a seat and started eating my pancakes with Nutella like a hungry dog. It was delicious as it bought a smile to my face just like it always does back at the orphanage.
"Morning everyone." Ace walked in and took a seat next to me.
"Morning Ace." I say to him.
Then he faced me with an o shape on his mouth, "Oh, you're feeling better, it's been days without you and we all missed your company, especially myself."
I smiled, "I know, I'm sorry, for getting you guys worried, it's just I've been thinking too much of what happened to..." I gasped, "It's just that I've had a rough time. "
"Thats Ok, it's not your fault for your grief or getting a fever. People can become like that a lot of time." Then he eyed me up and down, "Are you going for a jog?"
I nod, "Yeah, it's what I do for a hobby in my spare time."
"Great, can I join you?" He asks with puppy-dog eyes, "Please, I want to make a good impression as your new brother."
"Sure? If you can for five minutes to the park." I tease, "and beat me to it."
"Yeah I can deal with that." Ace replied, a smirk spread on his face.
"OK after breakfast."
I agreed . After I finished eating my pancakes, I ran upstairs towards my room to collect Chico.
"Come on, Chico let's jog to the park and beat that boy." I tell him.
"Lets jog to the park." Repeats twice making me chuckle. He landed on my shoulder so I went dashing downstairs with my sneakers on. We just waited for Ace at the front door step.
"Ready for a jog?" I ask.
He nods, "Yeah!" He eyes Chico who is sitting on my shoulder, "you're bringing him along too."
I gave him a nod and we started jogging while the green parrot took off my shoulder and flew with us. Jogging helps me to clear my mind because I can feel myself soaring with the wind and running free once again. We say hello to a few people who we pass by. While we continue I saw two kids about my age walking towards us when they noticed Ace and waved from the their point, they must be his friends.
