Chapter 6: Trip

Y/N's POV

Today was the day. The trip to the science exhibit. I am on the bus with Jack. I also remembered to bring a professional camera.

Y/N: Can't wait to be there!

Jack: You really have that camera?

Y/N: Yeah. My uncle and aunt let me take it.

Jack: Cool.

We see MJ and Gwen sitting with each other.

Gwen: I can't wait to see what these scientists are doing.

MJ: I hope it's something nice...

Y/N: I believe it will. Who knows what we'll see.

Timeskip

We make it to the science exhibit. We are following some scientists. We are looking at... spiders...

Y/N: This is incredible.

I say this because of a machine I saw.

Y/N: This is the most advanced electron microscope on the eastern seaboard.

Jack: Huh...

A lady scientist was explaining what the spiders can do.

Scientist: Arachnids from the bruises as varying strengths which helped them in search for food. Like the Delano spider, who has the ability to jump to catch its prey.

Y/N: Can I get a picture?

The lady nods. I take a picture of it.

Y/N: Thanks.

Scientist: Now, the net web spider, they spin intricate funnel shaped webs that have a strength proportionately equal to the type of high tension wire from a high building.

Jack: That's pretty cool.

She takes us to the next spider.

Scientist: This spider hunts using a set of reflexes with nerve conduction velocities so fast that some researchers believe it almost borders on precognition. They become aware of danger, their spider-sense.

Y/N: Spider-sense...

I see MJ.

MJ: These things look gross, but they also look cool. I like them.

Y/N: Yeah, me too.

We look at the spiders.

Y/N: These spiders can blend in to their environment, it's like a defense thing.

MJ: Really?

Y/N: Yeah, pretty cool right?

MJ: Yeah... it is.

MJ smiles at me. I smile back.

Scientist: All of these spiders combines all of the genetic information of all of the spiders here into these 15 spiders genetically designed spiders.

I see MJ looking at each spider.

MJ: There's 14.

The scientist looks at her.

Scientist: What was that?

MJ: There's 14, I counted them. One of them is missing.

Scientist: Huh... maybe one of the researchers are studying that one. Well, that's all.

The scientist walks away. MJ is still looking at the spiders.

Y/N: Do you mind if I take a few pictures of you with the spiders?

MJ: Yeah sure.

No one's POV

There is a spider on its webs above Y/N. Y/N takes pictures of MJ.

Y/N: Looking good.

MJ: I love your camera.

Y/N: Thanks.

The spider lowers closer to Y/N as he took more pictures.

Y/N: Thanks.

MJ: Of course.

MJ starts walking away. The spider then lands on Y/N's hand. The spider bites down.

Y/N's POV

Y/N: Ahh!

A sudden pain in my hand makes me almost drop my camera. I see a spider jump off of me. I look at it in shock, it looks like the missing spider that MJ was talking about. I look at my hand to see a spider bite.

Gwen: Y/N?

I look up to see Gwen.

Gwen: Are you okay?

Y/N: Oh... yeah... I'm fine.

Gwen: Okay... let's get going. We need to head back.

Y/N: Okay...

Timeskip

I'm walking home from school. I started to feel really bad as the day went on. I make it home and walk inside. Aunt May and Uncle Ben see me.

Aunt May: Y/N?

Uncle Ben: Woah, are you okay? You look pale.

Y/N: I don't feel really good, I'll just go upstairs and take a nap.

I start walking up the stairs.

Aunt May: So you want something to eat or drink?

Y/N: No thanks.

I walk in my room and close my door. I pass out right away when I lay down on my bed. I can feel myself sweating as my vision was fading.
