28 - Lay Low

(Y/n POV)

After about half an hour, I hear a door close. I turn to see Ryujin walking towards me with a smile of her face.

She joins me sitting in the couch before pecking my lips and staring into my eyes.

"How was your day?" She asks.

I pout slightly thinking back to how it was, but the more I do the more I realise that it was just a load of work piled on my desk that I felt like it would never end.

"It wasn't bad, how was yours? Did you have fun with your fans?"

She nodded happily, "lots of fun.." Ryujin said as she moved to sit on my lap facing me. I looked up at her in confusion, she just stared back into my eyes intertwining her hands with mine.

"What are you doing?" I look up at her and she has a slight smirk plastered over her lips. She didn't say a single word.

I feel her lips plant soft kisses on my neck and along my jaw as her hands move under my hoodie gently squeezing my waist.

"I really can't help myself when I see you after work, there's just something about you in those suits you wear.." I hear her whisper against my skin.

I chuckle at her comments and melt under her touch as she moves back up to meet my eyes, staring deeply into mine.

"How come you came before me? Was practice cancelled?" I look at up at her.

She nods slowly, "it got cancelled last minute, I was going to visit you but I felt like you were really busy."

I smile at her and reply, "you can always visit me Ryujin, I'd love to see you during work."

"I'll keep that in mind next time.." She says as she moves to kiss my lips softly. I quickly respond to her kiss before she pulls away as we hear the front door unlock.

Both of our heads turn to see the door open, "Am I interrupting something?" I see Joohyun unnie standing by the door.

Ryujin quickly moves off from my lap and clears her throat, "n-no not at all.."

Joohyun unnie giggles, "no need to get flustered Ryujin." She pauses, "you guys are lucky I'm not Yerim, she would've made fun of you."

"Yeah, we got lucky- anyways unnie how did you get in?" I tilt my head.

"You gave me a spare key? When you first moved in because you needed help bringing your stuff?" She walks in and closes the door behind her. "Do you not remember?"

"Oh right right, I just forgot." I say slowly.

Joohyun unnie walks over and sits opposite Ryujin and I then speaks, "so I came here for a few things, one is that I got you some stuff." She says bringing out some food from a bag, "and because of this article.." Joohyun unnie passes her phone to me and Ryujin leans over to read with me.

After the previous V-live with the other members, sasaengs and some Midzys had kept a close eye on each of the members activities.

Despite the regular activities reported by anonymous sasaengs Main Rapper Shin Ryujin was caught regularly visiting other places other than dance practice (company JYP), ITZY dorms and normal places for an idol to be.

Shin Ryujin was supposedly caught regularly visiting another place of work where idols are not usually seen. This makes fans believe that Shin Ryujin is possibly dating someone that is not part of the K-pop industry.

Fans are having a mixed reaction to this news as nothing has been mentioned from JYP Entertainment or the idol herself Shin Ryujin.

I lower the phone and am met with worried eyes of those who are my sister's, "what are you guys gonna do?"

"Didn't I say dropping me off was a bad idea?" I look towards Ryujin.

She nods then replies, "yeah but I thought that by now it would have died down.. Y'know?"

I sigh and say, "tomorrow you need to- no we need to speak to Jinyoung because clearly something will happen if we don't deal with this. Okay?"

She nods again slowly and replies, "what if we tell the fans that we are together?"

I opened my mouth to speak but Joohyun unnie cut me off, "right now I don't think that's a good idea. Y/n is right, you should go tomorrow and sort it out with JYP and see what happens from there. Because I don't think you both will be able to take control of this right now.."

"Okay.. We can wait, we just--"

"Ryujin, it might be hard but you should distance yourself from Y/n. As much as I love seeing you two together, I would hate for you to lose your career that you worked so hard for. Okay?" Joohyun replies firmly.

"B-but what if something bad happens to Y/n when I'm gone? Unnie some fans are crazy over me and what if they already know about Y/n? They could hurt her." Ryujin furrows her eyebrows holding my hands tightly.

"Ryujin, I'll be fine. Trust me.. I doubt anyone will try to hurt me. If they do I'll--"

"And if they do, I'll blame myself for not protecting you Y/n!" Ryujin replies quickly.

"Ryujin.. It's for the best that you both distance eachother. Just for now anyways, I doubt anything will happen to Y/n but if you really care about her I can stay with her or one of the other Red Velvet girls can. Is that okay?"

Ryujin sighes in distress brushing her hair back, pulling me into a hug. "I don't want anything to bad to happen to you.. I can't afford to lose you in any way possible." She tightens her grip around me pulling me closer.

"I know Ryujin.. I promise to stay in contact with you when you're away but for now I think unnie is right. It's for the best." I reply gently pushing her away and she nods.

"Tomorrow, I can come here early and pick up Ryujin, drop her off at the dorms then ask one of the Red Velvet girls if they want to stay with Y/n, one of them will probably say yes. If not, I will stay." Unnie smiles slightly giving Ryujin and I a reassured look.

"Okay.. Thank you unnie," Ryujin smiles back at my sister.

"No problem. But promise me that you guys will stay low, this also means that you need to be careful wherever you go.. For the both of you." Irene unnie says sternly and we both nod, "okay good. Now I'm gonna leave and come back tomorrow at around 6 in the morning because I assume that Ryujin has work tomorrow."

We both nod at Irene unnie and she gives us a thumbs up, "alright.. See you love birds tomorrow." She jokes before leaving the house and closes the door behind her.

I turn to Ryujin and she has a worried look on her face, "I'll be fine Ryu.. Trust me, we just need to lay low for quite a while then everything will be back to normal.."
