Harry's pov (after the birthday, October 15 8:47)

"Harry! Come here!" Hermione called.

"Yeah?"

"I need you to stay here ok? Ron, Neville, katie and me are taking this to the castle, can you help us checking everything is ready and we are not leaving anything?"

"Sure, no problem"

I did as I was told so and stayed there.

After some minutes, I heard some sounds coming from the bushes, I took my wand on guard in case it wasn't...well, a family-friendly creature.

"Ah!" katie yelled emerging from the bushes and pointing me with her wand.

"What are you doing here?"

"What are you doing here?" I repeated in answer "Hermione told me you were in the castle!"

"Hermione told me you were at the castle"

"What's up her sleeve?"

"No idea"

We stayed in an awkward silence.

Do something you git!

"You look really beautiful in the moonlight!" I kind of yelled suddenly.

Stupid dumb fuck.

"Thank you" she replied with a laugh "you look handsome, the suit looks good on you" 

"Thanks, I don't really wear these, but today I decided to cause hermione told me this was something serious"

"You know how she is, exaggerating things"

I chuckled "yeah, this place it's beautiful isn't it?"

"Yeah, I should come here more often" 

There was a silence, but then I realized there was someone missing.

"Why wasn't Jake here? I mean, he's your brother he needs to come to your birthday.

"He's got lots of study, he talked to me before coming so I guess is fine" she sat on the riverside staring at some fishes that were swimming in it.

"He's been distant lately hasn't he?"

"Mhm, ever since he got lost and all that he's not talking to me a lot, I miss him"

"I'm sorry, I know he's really important to you" I sat besides her.

"It's ok, I know he's busy and all, it's just that he's not around that much" Katie started casually "you know all about my dad being an asshole and my mom being the best person in the world while she's controlled by my dad so she acts the same for his approval and well, I have my brother for that and when I don't it's just...hard you know?" We both stayed in silence, this time it wasn't awkward "or maybe he got himself a cute girlfriend, who knows"
