As Jimin walked toward the set, a bunch of photographers clicked his pictures, requesting to pose for them. However, without paying any heed to them, Jimin kept walking with a straight face and blank eyes covered by his dark sunglasses. Ms. Saina looked visibly comfortable with all the flashes going around, but Jungkook was new to it. The first hour on the job, and he was already revisiting the prom night where Jimin had protected him from the hungry paparazzi.
"Over there," Kyla suddenly made Jungkook's heart jump to his throat as she mumbled in his ear without being obvious. Jungkook's neck craned all around, unable to pick which side the lady was referring to. "Here, wear them."
Jungkook took the glasses from Ms. Saina's hands and realized why they were a necessity for two reasons — to be safe from sunlight and to be seemingly oblivious. "9'o clock, the man in the black hat is Namjoon, the producer of Jimin's agency. He is the one to have launched Jimin as an adult."
"Wait, so Jimin started as a kid before Namjoon launched him?" Jungkook befuddled.
Kyla nodded shortly, continuing to walk behind Jimin to get to his vanity. "He did projects that aren't well known, but yes. He did start as a child, but only rose to fame as a teen with a rom-com."
Jungkook remained quiet, now recollecting that Kyla had told him that the contract was now over with the agency. "Don't mingle with them. Especially the good-looking man who was standing with Namjoon. He is Jimin's age, but Jimin wouldn't like it if you made friends with him."
"Why? Isn't it about my personal life? Why would Jimin mind?" Jungkook asked, passive-aggressive.
"It's because those people aren't here for friendship, Jungkook. They would only and only talk to you to get anything on Jimin. So we can't be cautious enough," Kyla explained rather calmly, knowing how the young male would have to take a few weeks to settle in the new environment. "Hopefully you won't have to deal with them for long."
"Ms. Saina," Jimin turned around, softly speaking while keeping his sunglass-laden eyes on the ground. "These motherfuckers have to leave or I am ruining today's scene. You know I am not a fan of Ms. Kim either."
"I'll see what I can do," Kyla held her hands up, trying to calm Jimin. "Come on, Jungkook."
"Jungkook will..." Jimin suddenly intoned, stopping the two from spinning on their heels for a moment. "Go and fetch my coffee."
The younger gave a look to Kyla before nodding and they walked in separate directions after the latter pointed toward a small cafe. Jungkook rushed to get coffee, slamming into a few people who began to whisper a few things. He was being polite when he flashed nervous smiles at them, but no one came near him when he wanted to ask them about a few things.
"Park Jimin's assistant?" He heard someone initiate the talk.
Finally!
Just as he turned, his smile stifled back and disappeared from whence it originated. There stood the man whom Kyla alerted him about. "I am Kim Taehyung. Kim Namjoon's assistant. I am new too. Only a month in this job, but I am actually quite senior in the industry."
"Oh," was all Jungkook said and craned his neck around, not wanting to speak to him at all.
"You are looking for number 13," Taheyung pointed at the small wooden cabinet on a big shelf.
Quickly, Jungkook opened it to find Jimin's name tag. He sighed in relief, taking out the mug and lurking towards the coffee machine, he began to make the drink. "Thank you, Hyung."
"You are welcome. Being new here can be a little overwhelming, but you will pick up quickly."
Jungkook thought that the man seemed genuinely nice, but he couldn't form an opinion in just a few minutes when Kyla had clearly instructed him to not trust anyone. "I am in a little hurry, Hyung. I will catch up with you later."
