Ayla woke up in the middle of the night. She couldn't sleep. She felt really stuffy in the room that just made her nose blocked. She crawled out of bed, careful not to wake Hunter and Stephanie beside her up, slowly making her way out.
It was good to see a place different than Hunter's room after three days stuck in there. She carefully made her way to the stairs, making sure no one was around before taking one step at a time down the stairs. She felt quite awkward after three days not descending the stairs.
"Going somewhere?" Ayla heard a voice behind her. She just wanted to smack herself at the moment. She was lucky she didn't let out a squeal when she wasn't at all expecting someone to be awake at 2 in the morning.
She plastered her most innocent smile and turned around to find Cameron looking at her with crossed arms.
"Cammy! God it's so good to see you" Ayla said.
"You just saw me last night?" Cameron raised an eyebrow.
"Oh" Ayla just seemed to realize. "Uh yeah but uh, damn I missed you a lot" Ayla managed, giving him the widest smile.
"What are you doing out of bed?" Cameron asked, not buying any other tales Ayla's gonna say.
"The truth" Cameron said when he saw her nervous and shaking.
Ayla sighed. "Alright, alright. I felt so stuffy in there and my nose was blocking. I came out to get some fresh air" Ayla said, biting her lip.
Cameron sighed. "You know you're still not feeling well right?"
"Yes, I know, I know. But please, I've been there for three days. Just this once. Hunter and Shawn wouldn't let me do anything" Ayla reasoned.
"I don't know, Ayla. I don't think it's a good idea" Cameron rubbed the back of his head.
"Cammy, please? Just this once, I swear just this once?" Ayla gave him her puppy eyes.
"Fine. But keep it down and don't tell anybody about this especially my dad and Uncle Hunter" Cameron gave in.
Ayla's lips curled into a wide smile. She nodded like an excited two year old.
"And you aren't supposed to walk or stand, you get me?" Cameron asked.
"Then how am I gonna go anywhere?" Ayla wondered.
Cameron turned around and squatted, extending his arms over his back. Ayla got the signal and wrapped her arms around his neck. Cameron wrapped his arms under her to support her weight. Ayla wrapped her legs around his waist as he stood them up.
"You okay, up there?" Cameron asked.
Ayla hummed and nodded excitedly. Cameron smiled, amused at her childishness as he made his way to her room, walking across it and slid open the door to the terrace.
He stood at the rails as they both enjoyed the view. It was dark but the street light made it possible for them to see through the darkness.
"It's beautiful isn't it?" Ayla said as she eyed the moon that was in between the hills not far from their house. The moonlight shining brightly on the river made the view absolutely breathtaking. Hunter certainly has chosen the perfect place with a beautiful view to build this 30 million dollar mansion.
"It's amazing. Uncle Hunter has good taste" Cameron agreed.
The stars shone brightly as they two looked up, mesmerized by the view. It was amazing that they could see stars from here, which they could hardly even see anywhere other places.
"I remember you told you love stars" Ayla asked, resting her chin on his shoulder.
"Yeah I do" Cameron agreed, not taking his eyes of the stars.
