"Higher, almost there" Ayla said as she reached up to the top of the tree, holding up the last piece of ornament.
Hunter grunted and lifted her a little higher as she reached up and placed the star on top of the tree.
"Perfect" Ayla smiled, tapping Hunter by the shoulder as he slowly puts her down. They both took a few steps back, analyzing their work which gave them full satisfaction.
"Good job, partner" Hunter said as they both fist bumped.
"Steph?" Ayla called out Stephanie who was in the store room, finding for something.
"Yeah?" Stephanie said from the store room.
"Do you mind coming here and checking this out for a minute?" Ayla asked.
A few moments later, Stephanie came in with a box in her hands, walking to the living room.
"What do you think, babe?" Hunter asked.
"Oh guys, it's beautiful" Stephanie commended, satisfied with the decorations. She gave Ayla a pat on the shoulder as she turned to the box she brought in earlier.
"What you got there, Steph?" Ayla asked, her hands on her waist.
"I've got some decorations for the door. I bought them last year but we didn't really use them. Here you go" Stephanie handed her a few decorations.
"Woah, these are amazing. But how do I decorate them?" Ayla asked. It was her first time ever decorating a house for Christmas. Can't blame her, it's the first time she's ever celebrating Christmas.
"I'll help you with that. Come on" Stephanie said before turning to Hunter. "Oh and Hunter, could you keep an eye on the turkey?" Stephanie asked.
"Why do I always get to do the turkey?" Hunter whined.
"Because you're a Hunter." Ayla said, and yes, pun intended.
Hunter looked like he was fed up with life as Stephanie burst out laughing, understanding the joke. He shook his head and went to the kitchen.
Stephanie high fives with Ayla as they both made their way to the door, bringing all the decorations. Stephanie did everything with full care as she gracefully decorated the door, doing it as though she'd been doing them for years. Ayla didn't feel herself as much of a help since Stephanie did most of it.
As soon as they were done, they went back in and found Hunter asleep on the couch. They both shared smiles as they heard soft snores from the big man. He must have been really tired. He'd been helping them both with all the chores the whole day as it was Christmas Eve. He'd did majority of the heavy work like lifting and dragging the heavy things. Perks of having a wrestler in the house, huh?
Ayla excused herself to her room as she desperately needed a shower.
Stephanie watched as Ayla made her way upstairs, disappearing into her room. Stephanie made her way towards her husband, kneeling beside him. She eyed him, who was looking extremely tired. Her lips curved into a smile as she looked at him with full of love. How much he meant to her life.
She remembered the first time Hunter proposed to her which was also on a Christmas Eve 19 years ago, in 1999. He wasn't good with words when it comes to expressing his own feelings, but his effort that day just made her go head over heals for the man she'd dated.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" Hunter asked, as they both took a view of the sunset. Hunter has always found sunsets mesmerizing. He never gets tired of it.
