Silence
Your silence speaks more than words.
Spreading out like a sheet, cloaking reality
Is the pain in your eyes true?
A moment before we were singing
A moment before we were joking
But now your eyes are filled with tears; why is this?
Silence hurts me
But it also comforts me
As the wave of hurt fades, an ocean of love returns
I know you're thinking of me.
Your words speak less than silence.
Hidden in between the verbiage there is tears
Your eyes are rubbed dry to not cry; please don't do this!
A moment before you were silent
A moment before we just stared
But now you're pretending to be happy; don't you know this hurts me?
Silence hurts me
But it also comforts me
Even if you wish to be silent for many more years
Simply your presence will envelop me in peace.
