On the day I die
I want you to take my body and burn it
Scatter the ashes under some cherry tree
Use them to coax out new flowers

Because my life was a comedy, not a tragedy
Your laughter helps my spirit rise to heaven

I want you to hold me and whisper to me
Because soft things always comfort me
Use your kindness to coax out my true heart

When I'm angry and when I hate
I want you to be even gentler with me
Teach me gently and I will learn
Your gentleness helps the lesson remain there

When I'm happy and when I love
I want you to love and be happy too
Sharing happiness makes life more beautiful
Use your happiness to make someone's day

When I can no longer stand this world
You're the only reason I can't kill myself
Your love makes me afraid to leave

I hope you love me forever

Use your love to help me live
